Syndication

Sunday, August 7th, 2005

One of the many reasons I switched Caca Volante to use blog software was for syndication. For those of you that use syndication software, you can subscribe to this site using RSS 2.0, RSS 0.92, or Atom 0.3 feeds.

Also, as a hidden benefit of Ipecac Recording using Google Groups for their announcement lists, you can now subscribe to Atom feeds for the lists. There is a feed for the news updates and a feed for the calendar updates.

Ipecac Recordings Announcement Lists

Sunday, August 7th, 2005

The Ipecac Recordings announcement lists are back (for real this time)!

As before, there are two lists. One for news updates and one for calendar updates. Here’s the important part:

We have decided against moving the subscriber list over manually because there are hundreds and hundreds of dead emails in our current subscriber list. So we would like to ask you to resubscribe if you’d like to continue to recieve updates from us. If you have emailed us asking to be unsubscribed from the previous lists, then you don’t need to do anything. You will not receive any future emails from us.

You can (re)subscribe by filling out the form at the top of either the news page, the calendar page, or both!

Correction: No Fantômas in Brazil

Thursday, August 4th, 2005

It looks like Fantômas will not be appearing in Brazil as originally reported. This bit was just posted to the Ipecac Recording website:

“…the band will NOT be touring South America this Fall. They received some offers but the offers were not enough to make it financially feasible. Their booking agent is working feverishly though to try to get you some Fantômas in South America eventually. Much love to our peeps in Chile, Brazil, Argentina and Mexico.”

Gould Reflects on FNM

Wednesday, August 3rd, 2005

We had ex Faith No More founder member and bass player Billy Gould on the telephone about the new Fear Factory record “Transgression) (which he plays on, out in August 2005) and about 7 years after the split of Faith No More. Recorded on the 2nd of August 2005.

“The time in Faith No More took a lot of energy and we had lots of pressure on us all the time. For 17 long years. It got harder and harder… It wears you down. I needed a couple of years off. If there’s only one guy of 5 that wants to go on, it ain’t gonna work. Now Faith No More is like an ex-wife. I have a drink with them once in a while, but nothing more than that.”
