Hey man, I still smoke on occassion, but I wouldn’t bash a life-style, look back on the world’s history, a ton of greatly intelligent people did drugs, perhaps you drink to ease yourself, but Frued was into all assorted drugs. Hunter S Thompson another brilliant man. Every great band from the 70′s 80′s and 90′s. Supposedly, even Patton, at a time in the 90′s, was into some heavy shit. Mozart was a drunk. I’m not really trying to press the lifestyle, but you can’t put down a magazine that has sucked a bunch of money from confused teenagers for years. It’s not meant for an older crowd, which most likely is comprised of people who’re between 20 and 40. What most who’ve been with him since Faith No More or Bungle neglect to say is that they’d listen to Patton when they were stoned or drunk off their asses. I know I did, and a majority of the people I meet who’re fans had as well… Or in fact still do…

The writing in that article reminded me why I no longer smoke, the poor girl comes off mildy retarded. Jesus, how do they get a magazine together? What sort of loser gives a shit if someone does’nt smoke up? I spent 10 years smoking hash every day and if my criteria for listining to music, reading books and watching films required that the artist used drugs I would have missed out on a lot of great things. I’m sorry, I don’t know why it bothers me so much. I can’t help it though, I want to beat her with a blunt object. (maybe a large bong)

Amen to all of the above. To each their own, but at the same time, anyone with half a brain would’ve already know Patton isn’t into drugs. In his case, right on! I have no problem with what others do, but he clearly doesn’t need it to make great music. (Of course, it’s not like we should’ve expected anything less from High Times…..)

Although incomplete, terribly insightful…(I hope the sarcasm is apparent). Seems to me that the interviewer thinks if a stoner or pothead is not the source of ideas, art or inspiration, that it is somehow unworthy of praise or respect. I think weed is making these people paranoid and insecure in rationalizing their addiction to a ‘life’ style based on habit and inebriation…garbage…

I can’t believe that someone with such an ability to formulate intelligent sentences would care so much about a stupid drug to make a whole friggin article about it. Besides, what good is setting out to prove that to make a certain kind of music, you have to be a pothead? What purpose does that serve?
