I emailed Dikenga several months ago and they said the DVD is expected to release in 2006. When? Who knows? Can't wait. I missed the NYC premiere.

With the way everything is going almost directly to DVD after a few months of its release I doubt that the producers wouldn't have it out before long. I am hoping that it can make mainstream cinema just from Mr. Ebert's review. I've yet to see the film but I am hoping Mike Patton makes many more movies. One with Chris Walken would be lovely.

Ebert gives his reviews on a four star basis. That's an exceptional review.

Roger Ebert is probably the most well known American movie critic. He is half of the Ebert & Roper duo (formerly Siskel & Ebert, before Gene Siskel died) who rate movies either "thumbs up" or "thumbs down". Read on for more information about Roger Ebert »

The rating is very good. It is out of 4 stars.

Can anyone tell me who is Ebert ? Is he a well-known critic ?
Is 3.5 stars a good "mark" ? Is it out of 5 ?

btw I already saw Firecracker's making of "Wamego" on DVD multizone so I hope Firecracker will be available on multizone too

I saw Firecracker the other night here in Chicago. Trying to be as unbiased as possible, I have to say it was very good. Patton plays two roles and excels in one and is good in the other. When he plays the drunken older brother he is truly brilliant, and as the the carnival owner he's good. There are a few slightly disturbing scenes so I don't know if it's a date movie exactly but it's certainly better than most musicians first performance.
