Patton Has Ideas for Upcoming Fantômas Albums

A Comment from a italian fan site reads…

“Fantômas. Mike has 3-4 ideas for new album[s]. One with Terry Bozzio, one with Dave, one totally acoustic and one totally electronic.”

OOO… Can’t wait if it’s true!

Indeed it is. Thank you for pointing out the typo.

  3. 5m4ck Says:

A Fantomas album with Bozzio would be awesome, hope it happens. I didnt get to see him with FNTMS during the tour because they never come here. Fuck this place, Im moving!!!!

  4. Jon E Cigarillo Says:

I would like to see a two cd set. Both cds with the same songs, but one cd = no electronic instruments, and the other = only electronic instruments. or something.

  5. Bosbeetle Says:

Hmm I wonder how fantômas would sound acoustic…

I’ve seen shows with both Terri and Dave I must say I liked the drumming of Dave more .. but hey the songs are also recorded with Dave. So lets find out what a bozzio fantômas album sounds like…
    ;) now the waiting starts

There are some more interesting news in this italian Fantomas page (I’m basically translating it):

1)Fantomas: Mike has some ideas for new albums, one with Dave, totally electronic, one with Terry, totally acoustic. He’ll start working on them next year.

2)Peeping Tom: 2 albums will be pulled out next year, both very similar (based on groove and programming). He has already finished 10 tracks, he will complete the rest until the end of the year or during the first months of 2006.

3)Pinion soundtrack: Mike will start doing something at the end of the Austrlian tour. Music will be ready this fall.

4)Tomahawk: no time until he’s busy with these other projects.

5)What he’s currently listening to: Ennio Morricone, Ali Farka Toure.

6)Troubles with Rockstar Games: no music for the videogame.

    7)Last videogame: GTA San Andreas

(the interview made for the finnish magazine was made on July 7 2005)

  7. Travis Says:

I’d love to see the acoustic idea.

  8. zack Says:

my god ! all acoustic fantomas !! i would give a body part to hear that ! buzzo on acoustic guitar, trevor on stand up, dave on steel drum set or different set of a sort, and mike on just vocals and limited effects if any at all.

p.s. all electronic would be awsome as well, (techno insanity !!!!!)

  9. Tom Says:

I’d really like to see Fantomas do an acoustic album with the normal set band and instead of limiting effects just have an orchestra with them to fill in all the loose ends. At least I’d be interested to see that go down…

(Everyone’s thought about it at least once…)

  10. SmilesBruises Says:

Fantomas Unplugged? Hmmmm…. Could be interesting…they can pull off anything. I personally would like Patton to explore more electronica/jazz or big band. He has entertained the notion of someday tapping into big band/orchestra. The man can do anything. You never know what is brewing up next in his laboratory.

  11. DFT Says:

Hope Patton persues the Acoustic idea, but doesn’t stray too far away from the “Fantomas feel” a.k.a. 30 short bursts of unique-ness

  12. Mark Bowen Says:

Just heard Fantomas version of Rosemarys Baby being used to advertise an English TV Program about being careful what you eat at Christmas time, freaked me out.

  13. Adam Says:

I’ve always thought that a cool concept for a FANTOMAS album would be to cover old FAITH NO MORE and BUNGLE songs Fantomas style.

I’m sure it will never happen. .. but it would be cool!
