Plans for 2006
There has been quite a lull around here lately, but fear not, a lot is planned for 2006.
For one, I will finally merge CV Beta with the rest of the site for a more cohesive user experience. Some pieces will get dropped, some will get added, and some will be completely rewritten. And when the Ipecac Recordings site redesign happens (also planned for 2006), their news will be rolled into my news via web feeds. Additionally, I hope to have more non-Ipecac news so this site doesn’t just display stale, duplicated content.
I am also completely open to any and all suggestions for things you would like to see on this site, so leave a comment and I’ll see what I can do.

Are you going to resurrect the database? That would be cool.

Oh yeah, the database. I have approached Stefan Negele about that several times and even though it’s his baby and he didn’t want someone else taking it over, I don’t think he’ll ever be motivated to touch it again. All of the data still exists, so perhaps I will poke around and see if I can get it back up and running, but I would like to do it with Stefan’s blessing.

How about a monthly blog from one of the individuals you cover like Patton or Dunn or anyone who affects the groups you cover.

That would be cool but would they do it? I think not for some reason. Am looking forward to the revamped site!

We won’t see the videos on DVD, because the studio won’t see that as profitable. It shouldn’t be too hard to master something like that as fans and distubute it amongst ourselves though… the quality wouldn’t be as good but that’s the best we’ll get I’m afraid.

How bout user submitted music reviews. Kinda nice to see what people dig up, and then presumably, how a like mind (music-wise) reviews it.

Going off the subject a little, I have to say if anybody hasn’t heard or got a copy of FNM live at phoenix festival, England ‘93, do yourself a favour and find it as it was one of their finest gigs. I was lucky enough to be there, and to me it was FNM at their finest. It was one of Jims last shows and the tension on stage made for one of the best gigs i’ve been to. Here’s the set list for you to give you a taste for it:
Caffeine
Be Aggressive
As The Worm Turns
The Crab Song
Midlife Crisis
RV
Land Of Sunshine
We Care A Lot
Chinese Arithmatic
A Small Victory
Edge Of The World
Falling to pieces
Surprise,Your dead
Woodpecker From Mars
Jizzlobber
—————————-
Zombie Eaters
16 Tons/ Lets Lynch The Landlord
Easy
—————————–
Introduce Yourself
Marc Bowen
Epic
For those who don’t know there’s an A+ version floating around.

Yup, Mr. Bowen is correct – the gig was focking outstanding. It was when he was in the bogbrush hair, moustache only and blue hooded top phase! Looked cool, though!
Me mate’s got a copy of the gig on vhs but I accidentally recorded a bit of ‘Noel’s house party’ over some of it….how very dare I? I only admitted to it last year……..try and get a copy cos if it’s the same as the one I’ve seen, there’s some Brazilian tv footage (not Rock in Rio) where FNM do the Nestles chocolate jingle. It has to be seen to be believed cos Mike makes it sound soooooooooo sincere!!!!
