Yet Another Faith No More Greatest Hits Album
I don’t know why we need any more of these, but WEA International released Faith No More: The Platinum Collection two days ago, January 10, 2006.
The tracklisting is the usual collection of hits with a few other random songs thrown in:

- From out of Nowhere
- Epic
- Falling to Pieces
- Midlife Crisis
- A Small Victory
- Evidence
- Last Cup of Sorrow
- Ricochet
- Caffeine
- Everything’s Ruined
- Kindergarten
- Underwater Love
- She Loves Me Not
- Anne’s Song
- We Care a Lot [Live]
- Edge of the World
- Easy
- I Started a Joke

What a lame, half-assed tracklist! I could compile a far superior ‘best of’. Record company execs are schmucks.
January 13th, 2006 at 7:03 AM
how many best of cd’s will follow this one? jesus.
January 13th, 2006 at 8:48 AM
why in the name of god this shit is happening???.
would be interesting the release of a live record with songs of the last tour.
but that….again????
who’s gonna buy it? faith no more fans already have all cds and stuffs.
i have almost 20 dvds and 20 cds with live records and stuffs like that….and i think that the one thing is missing is a live record of the last tour.
stupid record companies trying to make money.
January 13th, 2006 at 9:57 AM
they would make more money releasing the FNM videos on DVD, or like Thiago says “release of a live record with songs of the last tour” than this BS.
January 13th, 2006 at 9:59 AM
by the way ……is this THREE best of cds now?
January 13th, 2006 at 12:16 PM
while I have NO idea why they’d make a second, let alone a third one, at least this one has a better set of songs than that last one.
maybe they’re making up for previous omissions of Kindergarten and Ricochet.
January 13th, 2006 at 6:00 PM
Um this is 2 best of cds…one was a greatest hits:p
I’d enjoy getting a cd with some demoes on it!
A dvd would be nice too…
Even better…FNM get back together, but those chances are just about impossible.
January 14th, 2006 at 8:39 AM
Are you sharing them DVD’s Thiago? Blog? FTP?
I’m interested and surely not the only one…
January 14th, 2006 at 10:43 AM
Actually this is the FOURTH best-of Faith No More CD. After ‘Who Cares A Lot’ and ‘This Is It’, released last October was ‘Epic & Other Hits’, which is probably the lamest of them all as it’s mostly tracks from ‘The Real Thing’ with nothing from ‘King For A Day’.
http://www.flashback-records.com/faithnomore/music/?rel=28520002-28520002
Please stop…how hard could it possibly be to put them out on DVD instead?
January 14th, 2006 at 12:25 PM
Live album, please. And this one has some glaring omissions, like “Ashes to Ashes”. Sheesh.
January 14th, 2006 at 1:01 PM
The record company have started a joke!
They must also have some decent live footage/shows to release. Does anyone know what others are available apart from Bizarre festival in Germay AotY tour and Chille 05? Both shown on tv. I have them on DVD but don’t know of any others other than Fat BAstatds.
January 14th, 2006 at 5:48 PM
Just heard Epic on the radio but it wasn’t the version from The Real Thing….wasn’t live either….maybe a unreleased version until now that was put on this cd???
The last “What is it?” before the final chours of “You want it all but you cant have it its in your face but you cant grab it” is a scream…
Also that final chours towards the end of the song “You want it all but you cant have it its in your face but you cant grab it” has extra background vocals or something…
January 14th, 2006 at 6:01 PM
This is just a money grab by the record companies…any word on peeping tom?
January 14th, 2006 at 9:41 PM
It may be to capitalize on the newbies hearing Epic on a bunch of alt radio stations.
I guarantee the record company would make much more cash releasing live albums… I don’t think another “best of” would generate much in the sales department.
January 15th, 2006 at 11:26 AM
4degrees, are you talking about the live version where Patton sing a couple of lines from Technotronic’s Pump The Jam? You can find it in the Live at Brighxton album.
About this new compilation, the tracklist is a disaster. I mean, cool songs, but without any logical order, It should have been chronological.
Are they going to release a FNM dvd someday?
January 15th, 2006 at 6:54 PM
another greatast hits? “its always funny until someone gets hurt”
January 16th, 2006 at 12:12 AM
4degrees; that’s the radio edit it’s available on the cassette single of EPIC and it was on number of vinyl’s. it’s that way on the video as well…don’t expect it on this release.
January 16th, 2006 at 2:37 AM
Its the sort of thing you’d get as a gift cos someone remembered you liked FNM, surely no self respecting FNM fan would buy this half ass album. I agree, live dvd please (one for each tour), maybe a bit too hopeful me thinks.
January 16th, 2006 at 6:16 AM
Strange that Digging the grave got left out. I saw another best of CD called “Epic and other hits” on some internet cd-store (a big one, can’t remember the name though). Anyway, the “Who care’s a lot?” has to be considered the only “real” one. The others are just released by some labels buying the license for the songs pretty cheap hoping to cash in some. It’s pointless of course, and FNM deserves better. God damn it, when you visit your cd-store and look at all the crap bands who’ve put DVDs together, why can’t someone do one for FNM. I’m sure at least Billy wouldn’t mind contributing.

January 17th, 2006 at 7:50 PM
I’m certainly not buying this unless it ends up in the bargain bin for a buck.
Hey, I just put a MySpace page together for my former FNM tribute band, Ugly In The Morning. The recording quality isn’t that great because it’s from one mic during a jam session but there’s also an a capella version of Chinese Arithmetic that I did.
I don’t want your money.
Just your opinions.
Cuz I respect you, damn it!!!!!!!!

January 18th, 2006 at 8:32 AM
This is absolutely shit. As much as I love faith no more, there is no need at all for another greatest hits\best CD.
It’s time for a faith no more dvd.
January 18th, 2006 at 2:48 PM
That is so silly another CD with the same songs… yadda yadda the label is a cash cow! For FNM fans out there I have been listening to this group called “fingerprint” they have a FNM sound.. anyways..
The only thing that ever changes with the greatest hit CD’s is the picture on the cover.
January 19th, 2006 at 2:34 PM
Wow, another greatest hits! i agree to everthing and who miss_fantomas says: It´s time for a faith no more dvd or anything else!
January 19th, 2006 at 2:59 PM
SAME SONGS AS BEFORE……WHATS THE POINT????????
I LOVE FNM BUT ……………
WHY NOT RELEASE THE BEST OF “LIVE” SHOWS???
OR A LIVE DVD??
January 20th, 2006 at 7:12 AM
I think this is probably their best album to date and i’m glad they’ve got Jim Martin back in the band as he rocks!!! Anyone know when they will be touring again?
January 20th, 2006 at 9:30 AM
hey, it got a 5/5 rating. It can’t be all bad.
January 20th, 2006 at 11:45 AM
Ipecac could invest in live dvds too.
think about it:
tomahawk live

melvins live
patton vs x-ecutioners live
January 20th, 2006 at 10:49 PM
I think this album is an idea of some retarded manager in the music industry, and I agree that a live documentary or some other live stuff would sell much better, but we all want a new FNM album or at least one more show don’t we?
January 21st, 2006 at 9:02 AM
Straying off the subject a bit but I found some Peeping Tom news. In a billboard interview with Dale Crover of the Melvins the following was said:
“I did some recording with [Patton] a while back — about two years ago,â€? Crover says of the album. “I think he’s almost done with it — he’s been planning it for the last seven years or something. He’s mentioned that it’s going to be more straightforward for him. I don’t know how many songs he recorded — an insane amount, like 30. There’s a lot of layered vocals — like Beach Boys style. Some hip hop-y sort of beats. It’s weird. It’s drum machine mixed with live drums mixed with crazy samples, but then there’s guitar and bass. Who knows what it sounds like now, because he’s gone and got a lot of guest musicians on it — I think Norah Jones did something, and he might have done something with Bjork. He’s sort of mentioned a possible tour.”

January 22nd, 2006 at 2:04 AM
i totally agree with metamp, this guys could always release some new disc with the “best of faith no more” like a last name, we, the fanatics have our own favorites compilation of the marvelous faith no more work, and they keep releasing this things wich dont have great sale, personally i prefer some dvd from a live concert (like the last sidney show), i just own a vhs from chile 95, and am just waiting for a masive dvd release from a live performance of f.n.m in my damn country………
CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHERE FROM CAN I DOWNLOAD THE “TRIBUTE OF THE YEAR” DISC??? THANKS…
January 24th, 2006 at 7:32 AM
if it’s that 2-disc compilation I’m thinking of, it’s not even worth stealing. Absolutely horrid. ack.
January 24th, 2006 at 12:43 PM
ya, i think thats the compilation am lookin for, stealin???, hell no jamie, here i already looked everywhere and no results, so if u or anyone still can help me i would appreciatte it, thanks..
January 25th, 2006 at 10:33 AM

I’m warning you, it’s sad.
January 27th, 2006 at 12:37 PM
By the way the “Tribute of the year” album is really bad I sold it on Amazon years ago LOL.
Instead you all try to download the “Malpractice” video played by “The Dillinger Escape Plan” of course with Mike Patton, it’s awesome!!!!!
I never seen FNM to play this one live.
January 28th, 2006 at 3:25 AM

February 9th, 2006 at 3:27 PM
I say, if it matters, screw a Faith No More “Best of…” in any form… Where’s the Best of Mike Patton disc… A couple FNM tracks, a couple of Tomahawk tracks, a couple of Bungle tracks, maybe a track from the Dillinger and Lovage records, maybe a track from the Maldoror and Kaada/Patton records, maybe some of his various guest appearances, i.e. Sepultura, Tin Hat Trio, Zorn, Bjork… Fuck it–it’s become a must have boxed set…
Word!
February 9th, 2006 at 3:29 PM
Sorry, I forgot Fantomas… Why not just throw in a couple “pages” from the first disc and a couple “days” from Suspended Animation every so often between tracks… I’ll buy it right now! Get on it Ipecac! Sorry, I mean Mr. Ipecac…
Word!
February 9th, 2006 at 3:32 PM
Again, I forgot others, but it’s all too easy with as much shit as Mr. Patton is involved in: General Patton vs. the X-Ecutioners, Hemophiliac, Weird Little Boy… and, of course, his solo stuff… I’m so excited about this idea, I can’t even sit down to write this meandering of mine…
Word!
February 20th, 2006 at 2:34 AM
That would be one fucked up boxset!
February 22nd, 2006 at 4:04 PM

April 16th, 2006 at 3:23 AM
