well, quite frankly, am looking forward to see firecracker with patton acting there, am pretty sure this will not be a work for an oscar, but when i think patton´s there its a funny feeling, i know that the best thing he can do is sing, but to act in a movie???, i hope you know what i mean, anyway…
about pepping tom, am just curious about that proyect with mr. zorn, i know he is a musician but more importantly, i guess he has similar way to see music with patton´s way, thats why i have the hope that this will be a great masterpiece, just dont think that this could be similar to his solist disc cuz he is always looking forward, not back, at least that is what he usually say……………………..

Yes! I have had some demos of the Peeping Tom project for a little over 3 years so I am so excited to see how the final bit of it turns out…..and I have already pre-ordered 2 copies of Firecracker. May will definitely be a great month for Patton fans……now when is the new Tomahawk coming out?
January 24th, 2006 at 10:05 AM

Like Patton said about Fantômas “Delirium Cordia” art. It brings the artistic concept as a whole. The booklet is intended to be watched as you listen to the album. An image is worth a thousand words!
In other words… I’m not only looking foward the listening of Peeping Tom. I can’t wait to hold the original package in my hands and let my mind dive into Patton’s creative universe.
I remember spending hours listening to Disco Volante and staring at the arts in the booklet. I think General Patton vs. The X-Ecutioners also has a twisted concept. Patton & Kadaa has also a well suited mood in the picture.
Vive Patton.
I am not saying that Patton is responsible for creating all those album arts, in fact I should check it out… I have no clue about that!
January 27th, 2006 at 6:31 AM
i hope it’s stepped-up from the demos, which sound pretty tepid to me. of course it’s intention is to be more “straight-foward” and even (ick) “radio friendly”, which i really can’t fault, but the material itself just seemed kinda blah. like the x-ecutioners record, a huge misfire imho. this will be the first patton-involved record i will NOT buy right away.
January 27th, 2006 at 10:56 AM
I thought they kept saying over and over that the alleged “demos” everyone found online sounded nothing like the actual thing. Correct me if I’m wrong. (like THAT needed to be said)
January 27th, 2006 at 2:23 PM
Yeah I have read that in interviews numerous times. I personally hope that “Peeping Tom” will be a more radio-friendly pop/rock/whatever aproach. As much as I love the experimental and superbly creative out of the box thinking of patton, I would also like to hear him create more standard rock or pop music(such as many FNM tracks). Just my opinion. I can’t wait.
January 28th, 2006 at 10:45 AM
Yea, I would like to hear Patton do some more straight forward actual music.
Fantômas and all the other experimental stuff is great and all but sometimes its nice to hear him actually sing, like in Tomahawk,Mr.Bungle, and Faith No More.
January 28th, 2006 at 4:39 PM
Well, that’s AWESOME. Still, the dvd will be region 1 I suppose.
@Jamie: Nope, you’re right. I’m one of the few fans out there who actually regret that very fact. I wouldn’t mind a sound closer to FNM and Mr. B… but I guess there’s no room for hope…
January 30th, 2006 at 10:12 AM
aw man, there’s no reason to give up hope.
sometimes you just have to look for it! Chin-up, as much stuff as that dude puts out, he’s bound to drop something you’ll like eventually.
Besides, Lovage was pretty poppy…so we know he still has the itch. We just have to be patient. Like any good artist, he’s not going to please all of us all the time. Just hang in there.
January 30th, 2006 at 4:56 PM
Your all a bunch of fucking idiots!!!!! Now shut up and go play an instrument!
January 31st, 2006 at 4:58 PM
2006 is gonna be a good year I think…Peeping Tom coming out, and who knows what eles from Patton…AND new Tool….its a win/win kinda year:)
February 1st, 2006 at 7:20 AM
Right, I’ll hang on as best I can… with my chin up and everything.
Still trying to digest this Nora Jones business though. Pattons choices never cease to amaze me. *shrugs*
You know, it would be GREAT to hear Pattons voice again. To hear him actually SING in the old-fashioned way (just for a change)…
February 2nd, 2006 at 9:33 PM
TO THIAGO:
i readed ur “theory” about Spruance guilt on the rejoin of mr. bungle, i just leave a response to that in there, hope u read it, cuz u really need to do that, thanks
February 5th, 2006 at 5:29 AM
WOO! maybe patton may decide to change his voice back to those days of FNM’s “The Real Thing”, I mean the demos brought me back to the days of TRT. Let’s see what happens, Who’s playing on the Peeping Tom album, apart from Patton?
February 10th, 2006 at 9:11 AM
If Patton would be just a little more motivated he could run for a governor like Arnold, he can speak english at least.
Come on man just stick with what you do the best >>FAITH NO MORE
February 11th, 2006 at 3:53 PM
I hope Patton just does what he enjoys instead of what his fans want.
February 14th, 2006 at 11:45 PM

January 24th, 2006 at 2:29 pm
Norah Jones?
Bjork I can see…..Norah Jones?
Anyway I can’t wait for Peeping Tom!
Norah is a freaking badass in her own right, I think her and Patton together would be awesome. I dont really understand why everyone is so freaked out about this?!?!? Bjork just needed Patton for record sales. I’m sure she realizes not only would her fans buy the record but so would Patton fans. I like some of her stuff but most is just annoying.
Fans dont let Patton rap
February 15th, 2006 at 1:35 PM

This is great news. I was able to see Firecracker in Seattle (one night showing only; drove 100 miles to see it) and it was phenomenal. Mike is excellent and the actor who plays the boy, Jak Kendall, will be doing a lot of great things in the future,IMO. The only problem I had with the movie was a few of the people there seemed only interested in the film as a novelty with Mike in it. It was like: Oh, there’s Mike acting all crazy…Ha ha ha. Oh, look there’s Mike in a rape scene …Ha ha ha. (?!?) I mean, who the hell thinks a rape scene is funny? It’s a very good movie though. The cinematography is outstanding. The shifts between B/W and ultra-colored really emphasize the surrealness of the piece. Also, the dual acting roles by Mike and Karen Black (they both play two distinct characters) add to this effect. You probably shouldn’t watch it with Grandma, unless she’s a li’l twisted.
As far as Peeping Tom goes, I’m definitely eager to hear this. The “demos” that have been online for the last couple years will not be on the album and are not what the album is going to sound like.
Now, if we can get a new Tomahawk album and a new Lovage album (both in the works, reportedly), I will be vey happy indeed.

Whenever I have Great Expectations for a project, I’m usually disappointed. Having said that, if Patton is bringing in Bjork, Zorn and Norah Jones, you have a lot of talent on the plate. As for the ‘more mainstream’ approach, you have to consider what Patton considers more mainstream. California was more mainstream and FNM was more mainstream. If that were the mainstream, then you could go ahead and consider me mainstream. As many have said on this board, I love just about everything Patton has done–save Maldoror and the solo projects–but I have Great Expectations for whatever he is about to do next.
February 28th, 2006 at 3:40 PM
You just know the Peeping Tom album is gonna be fucking great. Pattons been planning it for years and years and i have a very good feeling about it. As for Tomahawk, Patton said its “a strange, quiet record based on Native American motifs”. I couldn’t believe that when I read it, but now I’m glad. Its time that Tomahawk branched out more and started to experiment a little. May 30th isnt too long to wait for Peeping Tom!
March 4th, 2006 at 10:49 PM
I hope Peeping Tom is better than Firecracker…
March 7th, 2006 at 2:26 AM
TOMAHAWK IS COMING IN THE END OF 2006, THERE ARE LIKE 4 SONGS RECORDED. PEEPING TOM WILL NOT BE THE SAME AS DEMOS, I THINK (THAT WAS ALWAYS THE SAME,ONE DEMOS,TOTALY DIFFERENT ALBUM).BUT IT’S GONNA BE GREAT ANYWAY!!!! YUUUUUPYYYYY HEHEHE,I CAN’T WAIT LIKE ALL OF YOU!!! (SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH,I’M FROM SLOVENIA ):)))
March 10th, 2006 at 12:11 PM
im kinda let down with patton because he is gonna star in a movie( even though its low a low budget b-class film). i would have liked it if he told them to fuck off…. but i guess he didnt….. im looking forward to peeping tom too but i hear its gonna be pattons version of pop music….. just hearing the word pop in any context makes me cringe.
March 17th, 2006 at 4:07 AM
He’s not gonna play in the movie, he already played in the movie, and I’m still on waiting list.
And pop and patton context is just great (listen to demos, you gonna like them).
March 31st, 2006 at 5:59 AM
Hey Flesh, Mike Patton has dcne ‘pop’ music before. Many times. Its just his take on it. Listen to a faith no more album dammit. Mr. Bungles California. Pop. It may also contain death metal in the same song, but its still a type of pop. And Mike has been a fan of elton john in the past ya know
April 5th, 2006 at 11:58 PM
SWEET CHARITY,Mike wasn’t fan of elton john, get real.
April 6th, 2006 at 12:18 AM
That “pop” thing to me is merely an especulation, u can associate “pop” with things like madonna and that kind of shit, i mean who can define carrefully this newest works of Patton and company???
April 6th, 2006 at 4:52 AM
Well,it is a kind pop, but, it depends what pop means to someone, for me even let say…Sepultura isn’t metal but harder rock.
April 8th, 2006 at 1:38 AM
Dark pop, alternative pop, heavy pop, hiphoppop lol, sounds cool to me.
April 8th, 2006 at 3:17 AM
Heavyhiphopalternativedarkhyperpop
hahaha
April 11th, 2006 at 8:24 AM
I am hearing the album, is really amazing and beautiful
April 11th, 2006 at 6:57 PM
By my definition, “pop” music simply means “a realitively short song that is catchy and has a chorus.” Excluded from the term would be classical, opera, ambient and a fairly large chunk of jazz. From my perspective, everything Patton has done, minus his solo albums, some of his work with Zorn and the first, third, and fourth Fantomas albums, would be classified as “pop”. The term seems to have taken on a largely pejoritive connotation, do, primarily, to the fact that most “pop” music, (and, like most art in general) is bland, repetitive and highly simplistic. If nothing else, based on Patton’s track record, Peeping Tom will be anything but bland, repetitive or boring.
April 12th, 2006 at 1:29 AM
DON,you are so smart.
April 12th, 2006 at 5:23 AM
hey, this album fucking rules. norah’s track == better than any bjork collab.
April 22nd, 2006 at 12:56 PM
Way to go, Don! However, “pop” can be defined in two words…..”Girls Aloud”.
Whatever genre it’s pigeon-holed in, if the demos are anything to go by, it’s gonna be sweeeeeeet.
And Mr P might be on top of the pops, wahey!!!!
April 25th, 2006 at 12:52 PM
El album está increiblemente bien, sin embargo yo prefiero las versiones que salen en el demo a las finales, por lo menos hasta ahora.
Siempre sorprendiendome con las creaciones de Patton…
