Fresh from recording a remix for Beck and a side project with The Notwist, our favourite Oakland six piece, Subtle, release a brand new 12 only single to coincide with their European tour this April. The single is called the “Long Vein Of The Law and is lifted from the album A New White (2004) which was a smash hit with the critics :
“Like Outkast, Subtle are one of the very few acts talking hip hop in a genuinely new and unexpected direction.” **** Q Magazine
“Doseone’s enervated, darkish vocal style belies the fast-cut fury of his rapping, backed by an ever-morphing backbeat of guitars, keyboards, orchestral instruments, dub breaks and luminous moments amid the wreckage.” **** Uncut
The single features two exclusive b-sides including an astounding experimental collaboration with the legendary Mike Patton (Fantomas, Mister Bungle, Faith No More, Lovage and Ipecac).

The long voice of the law vinyl has been out for over a year. I was sure that this site reported it already.
In relating news I spoke with Adam “dose one” Drunker after a 13 & God concert in Chicago. I asked him about track on the Peeping Tom album and he told me it will be like a some weird fresh prince gangsta rap but know him that could mean anything.

Just wondering…I notice all too much that there are very few Patton related websites around that may have AUDIO interviews with the man…I’d like to listen to the interviews he gives. I’ve read many and have come to the conclusion that one cannot catch the inflection of his tone dramatically enough through literary media… I’d just like to know a site where I can hear him give an interview…. Please help… I hope I’ve come to the right place… Word!

hey, anyone else heard this yet? It’s good and all, but I honestly wouldn’t have known which track Patton was on if it didn’t tell me.
