666 !!!! It’s a cool song
I wish they have played the “Melt Banana”
April 10th, 2006 at 6:46 AM
i was listening the new peeping tom record (the final work, not the demo) and the record is really based on that demos that we can find around the web. some of the songs are the final work of some demos.
it’s a pop record, not radio friendly all the time, but its has some “singles” that could play in the radio.
its not a excellent project, but its good…..stupid lyrics (you know, pop songs = stupid lyrics) but it’s very funny, what changes everything. the vocals are pretty normal and the best song its the second one (mojo – with rahzel and dan the automator).

That’s cool i guess, i hate stenr & sirrius. O&A!!!!

I agree. Who cares! I used to love it when my bands reached heavy circulation, until I saw the effects of it. I remember when I went to a concert of my favorite band, and people were talking and mulling about in the auditorium. They weren’t paying any attention to the band for which they had spent their hard earned money. Then the band played the hit of the day Black Hole Sun. The place went nuts. I was rocking through every song but Black Hole Sun, and I couldn’t understand these idiots paying all that money to hear one song. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not one of these people who say that popular bands are sell outs, but when popularity arrives the infidels of the industry swoop in to drop their dollars and their influence. I lift of mug skyward hoping that I never see a teeny bopper wearing a Peeping Tom T-shirt.
April 11th, 2006 at 10:16 PM
teeny bopper usually have alot of money to spend, me and i know alot of other people who follows this kind of music dont, so i think i wont have the original cd of peeping tom, but i can say that if i like it, and i have the chance to be in a live performance of peeping tom, am gonna be happy cuz i will know that i have more reasons to be there than this guys.
April 12th, 2006 at 7:46 AM
Rilaly, I completely agree with you!
I’ve noticed it myself and found it strangely disturbing. Let us pray that we never witness this act in the realm of Patton.
April 12th, 2006 at 2:46 PM
hey now…im a teen…and if there are any I will be sporting a peeping tom T. however it is annoying going to a concert and people really only come to hear the radio single…
April 13th, 2006 at 8:19 AM
I pray the Peeping Tom shows are sold out no matter who goes. Why don’t they deserve to make millions off of T-shirts and ticket sales? I would be ecstatic if Patton had a song in a Toyota commercial. It would mean he’s making tons of cash and his music would finally be exposed to the general population. They’ll do it after he’s dead anyway, he may as well be around to collect. Look what happened to the Ramones, they generated millions AFTER most of the band members were dead. I hope Peeping Tom makes a number one hit! Mike Patton deserves more recognition for all the hard work he does.
April 14th, 2006 at 3:24 AM
That’ll never happen, and if Mike Patton did manage to become a really mainstream star again, he’d end up doing some really crazy stuff to shake off the image. Actually, now I hope he gets popular.
April 14th, 2006 at 8:53 AM
I’ve heard some Patton related material being used to advertise on tv in the U.K, from FNM to Fantomas. I guess he is one the most famous underground/alternative artists around and I don’t think thats nessaceraly down to FNM but because of his relentless hard work putting out new material and working with interesting people, making it hard to ignore him as a serious musician.
April 14th, 2006 at 9:51 AM
In my country, in Hungary the fantomas – page 26 was the promotional song for some chuck norris film and i think it’s good!:D
I hope Mike will keep his experimental popular and experimental “crazymuthafukkerman” side in the future.
And i think the peeping tom will be very succesfull, but not just in the underground!
April 15th, 2006 at 4:11 AM
I don’t think Peeping Tom will be commercially succesful… have you heard it yet? Its easier to listen to than the usual Patton stuff but I don’t think it’ll break into the ‘mainstream’.
April 15th, 2006 at 12:51 PM
About 5 years ago there was a Mr. Bungle song played on Howard Stern. It was off of Disco Volante, but I don’t remember which one. I think it has everything to do with Fred Norris. He seems to know good music vs bad music. I f’ing love Howard and the balls they have to play good tunes.
In an UnStern related point, remember when InXS wanted Patton as lead? It’s too bad Van Halen never asked him. How funny would that be?
April 15th, 2006 at 2:11 PM
Star A . Dreamer Says, how can you call yourself a fan when you admit you will just have a bootleg of the Peeping Tom CD? $12 is not a lot of money to support the artists you like. I’m all for bootlegging, but there has to be a limit.
Personally, I own a prereleas of the CD, but you can be damned sure I will be first in line May 30th to buy my copy. The same with the last 6 patton albums that leaked. I downloaded all of them and still bought them the day of release and enjoyed them just as much.
April 15th, 2006 at 10:34 PM
has anyone heard the peeping tom album? want to discuss it?
April 16th, 2006 at 3:11 PM
In Europe Chapter 26 was used in a Lynx commercial, Easy has been used in a Levis commercial and I’m sure there’s more examples.
Who gives a fuck if the music is good?

April 20th, 2006 at 12:09 PM
i was listening the new PEEPING TOM RECORD!!!!!
the final work is similar to the demos, some of the demos you hear in the album.
and its pop, stupid, nothing new, but its funny.
there’s a lot of singles there, like mojo that could play in the same radio station of backstreet boys.
April 21st, 2006 at 2:38 AM
I hate to say it, but almost every song on the PEEPING TOM album SUCKS! OOOH, I’ve been waiting for this so long, and am SOOOO disappointed.
Three of the demos made it onto this album. Demo #7 is track one, “Five Seconds”. Demo #5 is track 5, “Your Neighborhood Spaceman. Demo #2 is track 8, “Celebrity Death Match”. The demos were MUCH better… in these new versions, almost all the words have been changed, but the worst part is, Mike’s singing is not as good! I couldn’t believe it! His singing is pitchier and much more nasal now. Also, the last track “We’re Not Alone Remix” is not a great remix of the original. In fact, it sounds like everything that was good in the Dub Trio version was now fucked in the ass with a dry dick!
AAAAaagh! What happened to this?!!! This is truly my FIRST disappointment with Patton, out of all of his projects.
April 23rd, 2006 at 11:08 PM
Cmon man, this is a great song!!!, but in the other hand, i dont give a fuk about it, lol!!
April 24th, 2006 at 8:42 PM
I am still buying the album when it comes out to support ipecac, but damn…..I tried with all of my heart to love this album. All in all ..just like earlier posts I feel like I’ve been waiting all of these years for a gigantic let-down. Wow…. what happened with the demos? how did they go from very promising to dissapointing? and am i wrong or are some of the special guests trying to emulate patton’s voice? there are the demos tracks that showed up that i enjoy, but…… um norah jones? sounded like she was trying to pull off some kind of lovage type thing that just didn’t work. All i can say is i’m shocked. Just my opinion. Dont crucify me.

Well, I posted my “review” in the comments section under “Looking to Contribute” a couple of days ago, so, without sounding too much like a broken record I hope, I’ve gotta say, I really dig this album. I should probably put a disclaimer here that not only am I a bit of a “pop-whore,” but I think I lost all ability to be remotely “objective” about this album about three years ago. For the record, I’d never hold it against anyone for having their expectations of this record grow to unmeetable proportions. We’ve been waiting for this for waaaay too long. But, for me, I never expected anything more than a very satisfying pop-album; in my opinion it delivers.
Thiago’s right. This is a very funny record. I’d go so far as to say it veers into the realm of biting satire. Come to think of it, I think that’s what I’m most impressed with about this record: his lyrics. He’s able to walk this wierd line throughout the whole record of making fun of allot of the substanative (i.e. lyrical) content of much of todays Top 40 without being off-putting. I can imagine clueless, vacuous teeny-boppers singing along to songs that blatantly make fun of their lifestyle. (Shit, if I’m going to be completely honest, the song “Don’t Even Trip” hits a little too close to home for even me: “You’re still a piece of shit but I can overlook it today!” makes me squirm with recognition…even as I sing along to it.)
Don’t get me wrong, it’s no “California” or “Director’s Cut”, (but it doesn’t try, or even claim, to be) and six monthes from now I’ll probably say it’s no “Lovage” either…but that album was so fucking out-of-the-blue, it’s hard to compare it to something I’ve actually known was eventually going to come out for over six years.
One other thing, I said it before, but I think it’s worth repeating: I really dig the whole a-different-producer-for-every-track approach. Aside from compilation albums, does anyone know of another example of this approach? I can’t think of one. I’m pretty familiar with the work of most of these guys, (especially Amon Tobin, Kid Koala, Automator and Nosdom) and, I don’t know, I can hear their personal stamp on each song while at the same time being very impressed that the album is as sonicly cohesive as it is.
One last thing. Aside from the additional use of the high-hat, I can’t make out any noticable difference between the Dub Trio version and the Peeping Tom version…and I kinda like the high-hat. Maybe I’m just growing deaf; A distinct possibility. Anyway, just my opinion, and I’ve been known to be wrong before. D.

Craig Says: , lemme get this clear, am not from usa, so that cd wont cost me 12 dollars, but in a way ur right, when u are a fan the money just get to ur hands a u buy it just to make u feel happy, the problem is that i never said that am a fan of Patton´s solo proyects, cuz am not and i never was, i dont know why u concluded that…
As u i have all mp3 records from Patton´s music in last 6 years, , but if we put the matter under ur point of view then i asume that means that i should buy it all, and if now u get to my point of view then u´ll understand that i would buy only some cds (maybe some MR. bungle, tomahawk and D.S.P with patton), cuz that are that i like the most, so as u see am not a Patton fan from his whole bunch of works, i have some divergences with some of this proyects, but believe me man, am puttin all my attention and objectivity to P.T cuz it has sounded too much around this enviroment, and about the guys above, am really dont collectin too many perpectives in this one, i lost that precious feeling and enthusiasm with Faith No More´s death in may of 1998……man i really miss it!!!
April 25th, 2006 at 4:57 AM
I completely agree with Mativs, promising to disappointing, and to me the production particularly the beats sound unfinished. I’m surprised that Patton released it as is. It’s not terrible by any means either but just not for me.
April 25th, 2006 at 8:12 AM
Don.. one of the differences that I noticed between We’re Not Alone on Peeping Tom vs the Dub Trio version is that the singing during the verses is mixed way down and in the background on the Peeping Tom version. On the Dub Trio version, the vocals are louder and have less of an atmosphere/reverb effect. I can also hear some little Patton vocal sounds layered in the background on the Peeping Tom version as well. Pretty subtle differences.. but they are there.

WMBA – What album is Dub Trio’s version of “We’re Not Alone” on?

To be honest, i just listened the whole work a couple of times, but im not able to give a judgement about it…. it’s just that i don’t know what to think about it… my brain has not “diggested” yet…
Anyway, i think Mike Patton is one of the greatest artists in the world.
