  5. Tatann Says:

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, can someone put it on Dimeadozen ? :)

  6. Tipsy McStagger Says:

I personally think Mojo is maybe the albums least interesting track, but hey, its still great, its just that ‘Dont Even Trip’ and ‘Five Seconds’ sound better to me

  7. Craig Says:

Having had the demos for 6 years, I’ve known five seconds for ages. Don’t Even Trip sounds too tongue in cheek to me. I picture Mike smirking through the whole thing! lol…

  8. Ari Says:

INSANE. Someone better tape this and seed or else I’ll go ballistics! =)

  9. Ts Says:

can someone tell me where I can get the album? I’d like to hear it?! email me the link or where I can get it. thanks! PLEASE?!

  10. Absolute Zero Says:

    This is awesome man!!!
    Finally!
I have to see that freakin Show
    But album? when?

  11. Star A . Dreamer Says:

    ya, i agree!!!

  12. Bo Says:

    Mojo as the first single?

    This is VERY BAD!

I love the song, but it is probably the WORST choice for a single.

Sucker should have been the first single.

All the Norah Jones freaks would request it on the radio, all the Patton freaks would as well.

Celebrity Death Match also would have been a great choice.

But this is just another case of Mike Patton fucking up is chances of being a star again.

I hope that the Mojo being the first single is false, however, i hope I am proved wrong, and it ends up being huge.

  13. Reek Richards Says:

It’s availible with a certain soul uh something or ruther…seek..

I really like “We’re not alone.” I’ve heard some negative things about that song, but I really think that it’s the best rock song that Patton has put out since “Mayday” or even “Last Cup of Sorrow” it is that good. Yes, it isn’t perfect. Patton is hit and miss with his falcetto, and that part isn’t great, but the rest of the song is.

The funniest song has to be “How you Feelin?” Especially when that line is used after the phrase, “The Apocolypse is coming…How you Feelin’?”

Five Seconds and Your Neighborhood Spaceman are probably the two songs that are most improved from the original demos. I really liked both of them. Spaceman is as close as this album comes to anything Bunglesqe.

It’s not all good news though. The album is nauseatingly cheesy in parts. Cheesy in the way your dad or mom acted when they were trying to act cool and made you cringe in fear as your friends roared in laughter type of cheesy. It gets bad. I almost vomited when Mike said “oops I did it again at the end of Mojo” Yuck! And any song that mentions the show “Will and Grace” in it’s lyrics is off to a bad start as is the case with “Celebrity Death Match.” I didn’t find “Getaway”, “Don’t Even Trip”, or “Sucker” to be that entertaining.

The good news is that for every moment of utter cheese, Patton is able to pull you back in and impress you before making you vomit again a few moments later. I think, “We’re not Alone”, “Mojo”, “Spaceman”, “Five Seconds”, “Kill the DJ”, and “Ciapirinha” were all enjoyable songs.

  14. Pampered Dangle Says:

I hate to say it, but almost every song on the PEEPING TOM album SUCKS! OOOH, I’ve been waiting for this so long, and am SOOOO disappointed.

Three of the demos made it onto this album. Demo #7 is track one, “Five Seconds. Demo #5 is track 5, “Your Neighborhood Spaceman. Demo #2 is track 8, “Celebrity Death Match. The demos were MUCH better… in these new versions, almost all the words have been changed, but the worst part is, Mike’s singing is not as good! I couldn’t believe it! His singing is pitchier and much more nasal now. Also, the last track “We’re Not Alone Remix is not a great remix of the original. In fact, it sounds like everything that was good in the Dub Trio version was now fucked in the ass with a dry dick!

AAAAaagh! What happened to this?!!! This is truly my FIRST disappointment with Patton, out of all of his projects.

  15. Ari Says:

Uh, is it cheesybad just because you despise Will & Grace and Britney Spears or something?

  16. Cousteau Says:

Well guys, this is Patton, not some fan-pleasing mainstream artist. And that’s what I love about him, he doesn’t give a fuck if we find him cheesy or provoking. Some of the hardcore metal fans will probably find Patton Vs. The Executioners, Lovage, Romances and yes, Peeping Tom to be less than satisfying, and those that miss the Patton from Faith no More will probably disapprove of Suspended animation or Adult themes for voice. My point here is, Patton experiments all the time, he tries new things, including repeating himself and pissing off some fans. I mean, not all he creates is perfect, but that’s not the point. You have to break some eggs to make The perfect omelette. Nietzsche would be proud of Patton.

  17. Tipsy McStagger Says:

Don’t Even Trip? Surely the albums best track. Brilliant chorus.

  18. Alan Shearer Says:

Mr Reek Richards! Why don’t you send your review into a mag!
How dreary and pretentious was that!!

  19. tafisher123 Says:

I downloaded the album from some website, Im assuming everyone else did the same……doesnt seem like its mixed right, cant hear the vocals all too well….dont even trip is pretty gay…. i agree with the ‘cheesy’ comments….mojo, dj song and we’re not along are the best….but i dont see this stuff growing on me

  20. projectmayhem Says:

you crazy cats had better record and seed that bad boy when it airs!

  21. 4degrees Says:

Reek Richards Says: Patton is hit and miss with his falcetto

    Whats wrong with it?

  22. Bo Says:

Well, repotedly, a video was shot for Mojo :(

  23. tt Says:

Mojo is supposed to feature Rahzel + Dan the Automator!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  24. Reek Richards Says:

Hey, it’s just my opinions folks. It’s my taste not yours, but I didn’t see anything pretentious about it. When I say “cheesy” I mean using overused lyrics that are intentionally trying to be cool in popular media when it doesn’t seem natural to do so. Why mention, “Oops I did again?” The five minutes of fame that song had are long over. He might as well made a referrence “Rico Suave” or “Achey Breaky Heart”. I don’t despise Spears or Will and Grace I just don’t want to hear them mention in my music. That’s my taste. I don’t care if you agree.

And “Don’t even trip?”…c’mon who even says that anymore? That phrase was popular five years ago. That song does have some great parts especially the hook at the end, but for a song to be good I think the whole thing should be good. For me it wasn’t.

Keep listening to the album, and I think you’ll find that my review wasn’t negative. I feel very positive about the album. Most folks that I’ve talk to are much more negative about this album that I am. I didn’t like everything on it, but I did like it.

I’m very happy that a video was shot for Mojo- outside the irratating ending it’s very good song. It’s a definite standout on the album. Rahzel and Dan sound great on it.

Regarding the falcetto…I just don’t like it. It sounds fake. The tone he gets in falcetto sounds really crappy to me…like a contestant in a BeeGee’s kareoke competition (wow, wouldn’t that be a nightmare?)

  25. Tipsy McStagger Says:

Reek Richards, what the hell does it matter if ‘Dont even trip’ was ‘popular five years ago’? Really, what does it matter? Maybe if you stop sticking so rigidly to whats cool and whats not you’ll enjoy the album more.

  26. thiago Says:

    PEEPING SHIT TOM….SUCKS A LOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AND WE WILL HAVE TO WAIT THREE RECORDS OF THIS SHIT.

  27. VTEC Says:

Well I have to agree with cousteau. Mike does what he feels, not what his fans want. The x-ecutioners album, perfect example. Its so far from Faith No More or anything else, and yet, i love it. Songs like get up punk and kamikazee, there isnt a track on there i dont like. But Disco Volante is my least favorite of all his work, and still, I LOVE IT! The point is, 75% of your average listeners would say “What the hell is that?”. I havent heard anything yet on the Peeping Tom CD, simply because i know what i may hear today, may not be whats on the CD(almost typed record). So why set myself up for disappointment on something that may not be. Most artists would be concerned if someone said “Hey I didnt like that new song on your CD”. Im sure if you said that to Mike, he’d say “So?” and ask what you didnt like about it. Which is why he is who he is.

  28. OmniWan Says:

I think its good! Only tracks I don’t like are Getaway and How U Feelin.

Patton said he had 3 albums worth of material to release. Any ideas when the next one will be out??

  29. Pascal Chimbonda Says:

Holy shit – some Yankee-doodle needs to tape the Conan show and post it on bungle fever!!!

A video as well????? I appear to have cum. In my blue pants.

Can I just say one word…..”Scolari”.

    We are fucked.

  30. Tipsy McStagger Says:

Scolari? Fucked you are not. Fucked you are not, my unknown, strange ‘dead goon’ friend.

  31. 4degrees Says:

    Reek Richards Says:

Why mention, “Oops I did again?

Its called a joke. If you weren’t so closed minded you would know that. This isn’t Faith No More, this isn’t Mr.Bungle, this isn’t Fantômas, this isn’t Tomahawk, and this isn’t Lovage.

Its something completely different and new from Patton.Maybe if YOU listened to the album you would realize that, and stop complaining. If you don’t like parts of it dont listen to them and keep your mouth shut.

  32. heh Says:

    I’m so there.

  33. Mark Bowen Says:

Steve McClaren not Scolari…. Nope Peeping Tom is not growing on me, but I kind of agree with the old breaking eggs to make the perfect omelette coment, and no it’s not cos it doesn’t sound like FNM or Bungle or something just that it was a big wait for not a lot.

  34. Reek Richards Says:

Tipsy- I’m not being rigid, I’m really not. I do enjoy the album. I’d say it’s good. It isn’t great, but I’m not dissappointed. This is exactly the album that I expected to be honest. From hearing the demos and the recent Patton…this is what I thought it would be. I’m not happy about that. Don’t delude yourself into thinking it is some wonderful thing that it isn’t. It’s a decent Patton album that’s fun, and good for a few chuckles. I’m not downing the effort of the music at all, the music is great. I wish Patton focused a little more on his lyrics…they go from brilliant to horrible in the same song…”Don’t even Trip” is a perfect example of that- but it’s a good album…

    Anyone, heard the B-Sides yet?

  35. Bo Says:

I have no listened to Peeping Tom for about the 101st time, and realized what the first single should have been.

    Kill the dj.

    Play me!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh well, I hear the video is supposed to kick ass, and Mojo has grown on me more.

  36. Reek Richards Says:

Bo- Kill the dj, would make a good single. I love rawness in his voice when sings “Play me”.

4degrees- by your logic I just have to say if you don’t like parts of my post then don’t read them and “keep your mouth shut.” For the record I’m not complaining. And I don’t expect a perfect Patton album. I liked the album so what’s your problem? Are you afraid that I might be right? It’s a stupid joke. It is not funny, not even a little. I think I’m probably more open minded than you are. I’m willing to admit that my favorite singer isn’t perfect. Not everything he does is golden. Get used to it.

  37. Bister Mungle Says:

Maybe it has been noted before, but does anyone else not see the irony in Peeping Tom that, as far as I can see, its not very pop and resembles many elements that Mike has done before on projects that are too alternative/avant garde for the ‘pop market’. I know Peeping Tom is tamed compared to, say, General Patton & Executioners and he’s said along that Peeping Tom is ‘may take on pop music’ but I’ve always been expecting more lush Burt Bacharach meets Les Baxtor meets whatever. But not the hiphop stuff like executioners/Lovage/Rahzel etc. There’s even a bit of the Tomahawk side of Mike.
Any hoo – it will be a great album but personally, not the album I’ve been expecting and, indeed, wanting (maybe its California but actually pop!) and I can’t see it being successful in the pop sense at all – nothing else has and like I said, the irony is Peeping Tom has just become a big collaberation act. I haven’t heard to whole album though, so someone slip me up and reveal the kinda stuff I’m talking about. I’l shut up now

  38. Tipsy McStaggered from the bar and went home Says:

Reek richards, i’m not deluding myself about the album. I never said it was an instant classic or anything, but it is very very good. Its just that some of the points you made were very trivial, who gives a shit if he says oops i did it again or whatever. Pattons lyrics were always fairly out there, as if he doesnt really care in the slightest about what people think about them. That leads to great lyrics and unusual ones. Get over it.

  39. hizEd Says:

It wasn’t mixed in Dobly :)

  40. Caralho Voador Says:

I’d like to know if Conan still remenbers 1995 with faith no more hmmm

    Scolari… fucked England ahahah

  41. The Pope Says:

    MArtin O’neil I’d say

  42. Reek Richards Says:

“Pattons lyrics were always fairly out there, as if he doesnt really care in the slightest about what people think about them. That leads to great lyrics and unusual ones. Get over it.”

I would agree that that is the case sometimes, but sometimes it can also come out bad. It doesn’t matter if Patton cares, and there is nothing to “get over”. I thought it was a stupid joke- end of story. I’m glad you like it and think that it’s great, but I don’t. My comments may very well be trivial, but none moreso than anyone elses here or this album for that matter. Very few outside us pining Patton fans will even care about this album. That’s just how he made it. There’s no negativity in that for me- just a fact.

When I was younger I saw a picture of Mike Patton (he was still being called Micheal Patton at that time) dancing with Young MC right after his first FNM album. Do any of you have that picture or magazine? I had it a long time ago, and was telling someone about it, and would like to see it again if possible. Let me know if any of you have that. Young MC was one of my favorite rappers back then…

  43. 4degrees Says:

Reek Richards Says: I’m willing to admit that my favorite singer isn’t perfect. Not everything he does is golden. Get used to it.

Not once did I say he was perfect.I KNOW he isn’t perfect.Don’t accuse me of something I havnt said/done.Everything I’ve said about you is right from your posts.Never did I go “OMG HOW COULD PEOPLE SAY THIS ALBUM HAS FLAWS?!?!ITS THE BEST I’VE EVER HEARD!!!”
Get you facts straight next time buddy.

  44. Pascal Chimbonda Says:

Carolho – Scolari has done England up like a kipper and I’m so glad he did!!! No offence to the man but we don’t need another fucking Sven Eriksson mercenary. “SHOW ME THE MONEY, SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!!” The fucker was wanting us to employ his nephew as well!! Piss off – it’s bad enough we were paying for Tord (Turd?) Grip. The woolly-hatted twat.

You can scrutinise the album and say it’s not as good as this, that and the other but if Mojo (and the previous demos) are anything to go by, then I am one happy bunny.

The world needs Patton and this should see him (intentially) cross back into the mainstream. Albarn and the Gorillaz should go fuck themselves….this is where it’s at.

Christ, I think I need a lie down.

  45. None Of Them Knew They Were Robots Says:

Theres always another great Patton project around the corner, if you didn’t dig the last one. Personally, I think Peeping Tom is excellent. I can’t wait to hear that album of Italian pop classics he’s going to work on.

  46. VTEC375 Says:

Um….from what i heard, Im amazed. I just got the itunes songs, mojo and preschool, both rock. Anyone disappointed with this is an ass, sorry. I know its a matter of opinion, but mojo, ITS GREAT! Musically and lyrically! Cant wait!!! I’ve got my preorder!!!! WOOT!
    MAYA….havent heard from you yet……??

  47. The Pope Says:

You just want O’neil to yourselves don’t you Chimbonda!

  48. Pascal Chimbonda Says:

    Popey – fuckin’ A, duder!!!!!

Mr VTEC – deffo a WOOT! WOOT! from me, sonna!

Yup, Mojo rocks. I am a super-big fan of Mr.P’s curazee stuff (Fantomas, Zorn, etc.) but sometimes you just wanna here the man sing cos he blows away every other fucker on the globe.

God, honestly, when you look at these postings, how fucking gay are we??? The missus is already getting a bit suspicious…….

  49. Reek Richards Says:

4degrees says: Not once did I say he was perfect.I KNOW he isn’t perfect.Don’t accuse me of something I havnt said/done.

LOL! I never said you did. I was just expressing my own opinion. That comment wasn’t about you.

  50. Ari Says:

Bister Mungle wrote: “Maybe it has been noted before, but does anyone else not see the irony in Peeping Tom that, as far as I can see, its not very pop and resembles many elements that Mike has done before on projects that are too alternative/avant garde for the ‘pop market’.”

Quite so. I think Mike’s comments about Peeping Tom being more humongous than Gorillaz or the stuff about the radio-friendliness may have been quite misleading; I mean even the artist list doesn’t strike as your ordinary pop crew. 3 of the tracks feature members of the weirdest hip-hop trio cLOUDDEAD, and Amon Tobin or Massive Attack are certainly not categorised to the “easily accessible” areas. Some of the album’s moments do without a doubt have a pop element to them, but ‘essence’ of Patton is strongly present (random shrieks, occasionally explicit lyrical content, highly deviated song structures etc.) If I want pop, I’ll head to town and interrogate what’s hot in the top-10 charts from a bunch of 14-year old skool grrrls. But Mike’s pop is tends to resemble the twisted mood setting of California or such. And I wouldn’t want it any other way =)

  51. Maya Says:

    VTEC375:Haven’t heard from me what?

  52. Valorin Says:

I think you guys are missing the irony in the album. As the usual off the wall prankster that Mike Patton is I think the entire thing is meant to be cheesy. That’s the beauty of the album – you sit there and go – ‘jesus this is cheesy… but its interesting and different’.

I don’t see it as anything like Gorillaz, its just slightly warped enough not to be accessible to everyone. But it will catch the occasional person who isn’t a Mike Patton fan and have them go – ‘geez what else has this guy done’.

It’s all part of his genius. Its certainly more accessible than pretty much everything else he has done. There is something for everyone. Roll on the next two albums.

  53. Yo Mama' Says:

I wanted to come in here and say that I only liked 3-4 songs, but the more I listen to it, the more I like a good deal of the songs. however, kill the dj and caipirihna could have been dropped to make this a more solid record.

we’re not alone sounds an awful lot like AOTY-era FNM.

  54. Tipsy McStagger Says:

    Valorin, my thoughts exactly….

  55. Stockport Yo Says:

isnt mojo with rahzel and automater? how come he is performing with those boys?

  56. Mike Patton-A-Thon Says:

MOJO – the perfect and obvious choice for a single from the album! Although it won’t be getting a commercial release (not in Australia anyway) – just a radio single! The album’s being launched at the Mike Patton-A-Thon in Sydney on May 27th for all you Aussie fans by the way…

  57. Wanderofys Says:

I really dig Peeping Tom. Five Seconds and How You Feelin are personal favs, but I expected it to be so. Those Anticon guys are amazing, and I’d been wishing and hoping for years to hear Mike Patton and Doseone do a song together. It turned out great.

  58. Jay Beckers Says:

Fantastic, anything that Pattin does is worth waiting for. The guy has a gift for us all. He can just about do anything with his voice. Can’t wait for the album. Keep it up Mike ! Love to see you back in Australia one day.

  59. j5 Says:

Good album. As all of you can see from this posts, some of you like 3-4 tracks, others another 4-5 — at the end, almost every track is enjoyable, generally speaking.
It’s not that _pop album_ I (and you, probably) was expecting but with Patton ( and this time with a bunch of extras involved, from Norah J. to Massive Attack,Rahzel,Bebel…) nothing can be expected, as usual (everyone is tired of knowing this) – I love that.
The sensation at the end of hearing the 11 tracks (and repeating), is that it’s not a perfect album, as someone already said, still, it’s an album that deserves a lot of attention.

  60. 4degrees Says:

Reek Richards says: LOL! I never said you did. I was just expressing my own opinion. That comment wasn’t about you.

Um yea you did…if you recall this you said…

“4degrees- by your logic I just have to say if you don’t like parts of my post then don’t read them and “keep your mouth shut.â€? For the record I’m not complaining. Get used to it.”

Read the first name you mention and then the last 3 lines in the same paragraph. So yea you did claim me of that.

  61. Pascal Chimbonda Says:

Calm down, kids – we all love the man so just leave it at that. Now kiss and make up…………….

  62. Maya Says:

    YES DAD :)

  63. Pascal Chimbonda Says:

Hahahaha – Christ, I feel soooooooo fucking old!!!!!

  64. dm Says:

When I first spun through the album (yes im BUYING it when it’s finally out!)
I immediately recognized “mojo” as the radio track. It’s obviously constructed for a radio release. As for personal favorites: I tend to listen to “sucker” “5 seconds” and space alien the most.
All in all it’s a good album, some areas are patton-heavy and others are more like mainstream hiphop/pop if you ask me.

  65. The Pope, Rome Says:

    I’m the Daddy here!!

  66. Maya Says:

No,pascal is daddy, because he remembers what happened in 1992! hahahaha,I don’t remember last week :)

  67. gasteropod Says:

‘I tend to listen to “suckerâ€? “5 secondsâ€? and space alien the most.’ That really made me laugh, lol.

  68. Pascal Chimbonda Says:

Hey, I’ve now got a fan club!!! Eeh, 1992 – what a glorious year. Wearing cords with huge turn-ups with chip-pan greased back hair……

…..marvellous!!! I can’t get away with it now.

Have you seen the new wave of metal kids with their skin-tight black Top Man jeans, bullet-belt, Flock of Seagulls hairdo and eye-liner? Holy shit.

Taking Back Sunday? My Chemical Romance? Him? Oh, my fucking Lord………

  69. The Pope Says:

I was looking like Mark GArdener from Ride till FNM hit me over the head, then I went and got my eyebrow pierced!
You know what you’re like at that age…

  70. Maya Says:

ME TOO HAHAHA (about eyebrow) :) ))

  71. Mark Bowen Says:

I nearly got my eyebrow pierced back then but was scared of the pain (right Maja? hahaha), mind you I kept seeing people with nasty infections and lumps over their eyes which put me off.

Man, I remember Ride. They weren’t too bad if i remember rightly -well for shoegazers anyway:)

  72. Maya Says:

But mark, there is NO pain, I did that myself once (well, there was a lot of blood, but no pain), guess I’m brave girl hahaha

  73. The Pope, Rome Says:

I had in in for years – it didn’t hurt but once it comes out it heals in no time.
Shame you can’t grow a bushy goatee as well Maya ha ha ha ha !
But I can’t grow my hair – on account that it has fallen out!
To make it worse I have to use Anti shine lotion!

  74. Maya Says:

I don’t know what bushy goatee means?

  75. Mark Bowen Says:

    You know Maja like Patton had in Angel Dust era – big bushy slightly lop-sided beard:)}

  76. Maya Says:

AAAAAAHHHHAAAaaaa,I know now hehe,my boyfriend has beard like that :) And I was wondering why I like him hahahaha

  77. Pascal Chimbonda Says:

Aye, I always thought Patton’s beard was a bit lop-sided, too!!!

What ever happened to Mark Gardner – I know his cohort is whoring himself as Oasis’ bass player!!!! Soz, lads – I thought Ride were shit. I was more of a Weezer man, myself……

Has anyone listened to the Mary Anne Hobbs show – does he do a live interview? I’ve had to stop listening to it on my laptop cos the good lady wife is watching Emmerdale and can’t hear it for the sound of ‘shit music’ (as she puts it…..)

  78. The Pope Says:

YeaH! My Mrs is all Corronation St, Shane Ward, Kylie etc etc
Bless her. The most “rock” she gets is fuckin’ Bon Jovi which I slag off with great gutso.
I tell her “this is how its done” and show her Patton being spat on by a thousand sweaty South Americans!

But my son (whos 5) likes Fire In the Hole and A Small Victory so I’m turning the tide!

  79. Maya Says:

That reminds me: my mum’s favourite song is MIDLIFE CRISIS hehehe, that seems ql to me :)

  80. Pascal Chimbonda Says:

Popey – ‘wor lass’ is into Artic Monkeys………

……little fucking spotty puffs with yorkshire accents. They sound like George Formby doing XTC covers.

    Bastards.

Maya – your mother’s favourite song is Midlife Crisis? Holy shit. I can just imagine some old woman swinging a spade around like a spaz (like in the video!)!!!

  81. The Pope Says:

Its better than your mum liking Cliff Richard!

  82. Maya Says:

1.my mum is NOT old,2.my parents are bykers and it’s quite normal for me that they listen music like this :)

  83. Mark Bowen Says:

My Mums into Cliff Richard, when I’ve tried to play her the finer moments of Bungle she just looks disturbed hahaha

  84. Pascal Chimbonda Says:

Maya – you have very radical parents!!! Must be a Slovenia thing!

Us English have reserved parents who sit around drinking tea and eating cucumber sandwiches…..

  85. Star A . Dreamer Says:

Man, when my mother listened FNM “this guys in love with u” she was stunned and she loved it, in fact she recognized Burcharard original song, BUT when i make her hear “Carry stress in the jaw” she said “what is this fight???” and she ran away damn scared!!…….by the way she looked me after that i thought she wouldnt speak to me like for a year lol

  86. yo need hobbies Says:

Mike Patton is the real jesus of the millenium. John zorn is god. Even if they do nothing more than fart into a tuba for 70 min it is sacred. Help keep music growing and QUIT YOUR BITCHIN YOU ONE DIMENSIONAL ROBOTS!!!!

  87. Maya Says:

Hehehe Pascal, you’re funny. It could happen anywhere ;) -well,in England maybe not,if it is aristicratic like in movies :)

  88. Pascal Chimbonda Says:

I can imagine Star A. Dreamer’s mother’s face when ‘Carry stress in the jaw’ turns into ‘Secret song’. It’s like, “What the fuck??!!!!”

Maya – yeah, every other country thinks all English men are Hugh Grant and all English women are Bridgit-fucking-Jones. Trust me, we are not!!

I just wish I had a decent job so I could emmigrate to the US or Australia!

  89. Kill Bo Says:

Firstly, I just want to say I’d love for Patton to get back into the charts. Now.. to the person back at the top of the posts that said Mojo is the worst choice for a 1st single. It’s the best choice you moron. I’ve been an enormous fan of Patton for about 15yrs. In the past few years I’ve completly stopped posting anything I know or any opinions I might of had about his work to any website ..mostly because of people like you. Who talk shite. Mojo is the most mainstream track on the album..and it’s the one that’s most likely to get radio airplay. Yes there’s tracks with famous artists which will generate mainstream interest but they’re not suitable for the 1st single. Simply because they’re too offbeat. Hit the audience with those after you’ve sucked them in. The album is dissapointing in parts but some songs are superb. Pattons constant chopping and changing of music styles overall gets my vote. If you don’t like what he’s putting out..get over it.. it’s just a case of next please. You can be certain that somethin else from him will be coming along in the not too distant future.

  90. Maya Says:

It’s still better when they think you’re Hugh Grant, for us (slovenia) everybody thinks it’s Slovakia. ;)

  91. The Pope Says:

    zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

    sorry people

  92. tt Says:

why is the dub trio performing mojo w/ patton? shouldn’t it be rahzel? could it be that they will be playing “we’re not alone”?

    -happy mother’s day

  93. yodel Says:

LOL! You guys are hilarious! Lighten up, all of you…..

You and I both know that Patton would ridicule every single one of us for simply posting on a site like this. And, like so many people have said, he wouldn’t give a shit about all the negative comments people are making on here even if he knew about them (which I’m sure he doesn’t, because I heard he despises the internet).

Anyway, the point is, Patton is an artist. He makes music for the sake of its art value, not for its commercial value. He’s not concerned with pleasing anyone or getting rich. I think he’s at a point in his life where his FNM and Bungle earnings will keep him afloat into late life and so he’s using that financial freedom to do what he wants and making the music HE likes. Let’s face it, making art for the sake of art or for personal expression is by nature selfish, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad. It also doesn’t mean some people can’t appreciate it. Patton doesn’t care about making some point or dealing with some social or political problem or even exploring issues in his own life. It’s music for music, his music for his self-satisfaction.

I also don’t think we should get too analytical when it comes to Patton’s lyrics (especially in his later career). He’s interested in combinations of sound and rhythm and mood, not words. I don’t think most of his songs are about “things.” The lyrics seem like an afterthought. He has said himself that he choose words for the sound and rhythm more than for their meaning. I mean, for goshsakes–the lyrics to Land of Sunshine were a combination of a bunch of questions on a Scientology survey and sayings from fortune cookies! With Peeping Tom, however, I think he has made an effort to make things cheesy and shallow with the intention of mocking pop music.

As far as the “oops I did it again” reference in mojo, seems pretty satirical to me, especially when it’s attached to a song about smoking pot, shooting smack, and binge drinking.

  94. Tipsy McStagger Says:

Has anybody seen that thing up on Youtube where FNM go fucking nuts on this MTV show and while the host is trying to introduce the next song, they start thrashing around and Patton just starts screaming? Watch it.

  95. Ari Says:

    Brilliant! :D

  96. The Bionic Vapour Boy Says:

I was wondering the same thing, TT. I’d rather see them play “we’re not alone” instead of “mojo”.

  97. Star A . Dreamer Says:

Lol, i didnt saw that part of the show in mtv, now this one is part of the funny things that happened of shows with Patton.
Besides the parody of R.H.C.P, in youtube there it is another mr bungle show where happens another crazy thing….anyway, take a look

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5DKXxMbrJE&search=mr.%20bungle

  98. Pascal Chimbonda Says:

I’ve seen that Bungle one before – he certainly smacks that fucker’s head in with his microphone!!! You can see he regrets it straight away – bollocks, I would have put the boot in……..

…..the hanging with Mtv stuff has been knocking around for years – the two women presenters are total American wankers and ask the same wanky questions from the Angel Dust days i.e “Whose persona did you take on in R.V?”

    Like, totally fuck off, bitch.

  99. kagaya Says:

Yeah – the Bungle video. Toronto ’91.

Unfortunately, he hit the wrong guy! It was my buddy who he hit. Glenn is his name and he was opened up for 17 staples in the head.

Mike was very apologetic (as you can expect). We got to meet the band and hang out with them back stage for about an hour and a half. It was great for me as I got a chance to drink with them and ask them any question I had, but obviously Glenn was really dazed and, quite frankly, angry a few days later. Ironically, he’s been immortalized on youtube as “that guy.”

  100. The Pope, Rome Says:

Can someone put this Conan O’Brien performance on that youtube thing???

  101. Maya Says:

Please???And make it quick! hahaha,I would really like to see it!!

  102. Ari Says:

I’ll be recording the performance on my Hard Drive Disk, but since they air Conan up here with a week’s lag, it’ll take some time before I’ll manage to rip it. So it would be cool if someone could perhaps seed it on a torrent or share it in SoulSeek.

  103. yodel Says:

Holy shit. Listen to Mikey speak Italian in this video. The guy fucking rocks!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4iSKW_bOkU&search=fantomas

  104. Star A . Dreamer Says:

Cmon ari!!, is that an excuse??, lets pretend for a moment that ur the only one around here who´s gonna make a copy of the show…….u are our salvation man……..help us!!!!!! LOL :P

  105. ungod Says:

Ok, lets keep everything in perspective…

Patton walked into this CD with the mindframe that it is going to be a “pop” album. Therefore, the songs are far more “pop” and “bland” then you would come to expect.

Now I use those words in quotations because, by no means is this pop or bland to the general population (or to me, in my humble opinion).

I am a patton fan, but I am also a Dj that plays week after week to people who dont like to look deep into lyrics or structures of songs. They like to dance and hear a catchy tune. Now I’m not saying any of this is “danceable”.. but if you look at mojo, it has the perfect chemistry for an insertion into this “pop” infested world. It is simple and catchy.

As for all the hating the outdated “pop” culture references – I wouldnt even dream to know what Patton’s intentions were, but couldint it be him poking fun at our culture?

    Just some thoughts.

  106. Pascal Chimbonda Says:

Yeah, come on duder!!!! There’s also that Canadian in the first topic who will probably tape it as well!!

  107. The Pope Says:

I can’t imagine hows he’s gonna perform this – with a proper band or just this dub trio lot on decks? Or both?
I hope he goes for it when he starts the chorus!
“Lets roll it up and smoke it again” Waddaya say Conan ?!

That the start of the chorus Pascal, I believe you’ve not heard it ;)

  108. Ari Says:

Hah don’t sweat it guys, I’ll load it on youtube if no one’s got to it before me, but in that case you’ll just have to sit tight for an extra week or so hehe ;)

  109. Pascal Chimbonda Says:

Popester – I bought ‘Mojo’ on download from i-tunes a few weeks ago!! I think it’s a classic.

Check out my posting on the Conan topic (at the top) – you can listen to the album for free. I enclosed the link if anyone hadn’t seen it on Ipecac.

    WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

  110. Patton Says:

Peeping Tom on Conan O’ bren last night it is available on youtube now. Go get it.

  111. Tido Jones Says:

Reek Richard, your opinions have bee noted. You don’t speak for everyone, nor does anyone else. Sucker would be a terrible single…the person that had that idea was a bit off. A lot of die hard Patton fans don’t like this album very much, probably because it’s mainstream. It’s Faith No More meets Hip Hop. Reek Richard says this album will not appeal to 75 percent of people and only true patton fans, well you’re probably wrong. This is exactly something that could be quite popular. Kinda like the Gorillaz were for a short time. Something that’s mainstream yet new, interesting, amazing. And about the phrases he uses like “Oops i did it again” Mike is very tongue in cheek. Hence the Hair Net on conan. The catch phrases are not him trying to be cool, rather him making fun of pop culture. If you dont get that then you don’t know jack.

  112. Star A . Dreamer Says:

Lol! kagaya, i just now saw ur coment, what a damn lucky u have man!!!!, besides ur weren´t the hitten one around there hehehehe :)

  113. STILLBIRTH Says:

I MISSED THE PEEPING TOM ON CONAN. ANYONE GOT IT? EMAIL ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  114. Maya Says:

Em…don’t you read the whole forum?? well,go up with your mouse and you have like 7 links.

  115. STILLBIRTH Says:

Actually no. I just did a blind search for Peeping Tom on Conan and it brought me here. Thanx!

  116. Damsie Says:

I like reading everyone’s comments, even the ones that think they “know” Mike Patton’s styling or tastes. I love reading your opinions.

Also, gave album to coworkers who never liked any of patton’s projects, didn’t tell them what it was and they both enjoyed the album. So… different ears. Not fans of patton, but fans of peeping tom.

    me, i dig it.
