Peeping Tom’s Debut Numbers
The numbers are in. The self-titled debut from Peeping Tom sold 9,559 units in the U.S. for the week. That means the album debuted at #103, just missing the Top 100.
No new releases bowed in the top 100 slots of the Billboard 200. The closest contenders include Mike Patton’s new project, Peeping Tom, entering with its self-titled Ipecac debut (No. 103, 10,000) and Les Claypool’s third solo studio album, “Of Whales and Woe” (Prawn Song), with 8,000 at No. 115 (his best chart position yet).
This is quite a bit better than the last Fantômas album, which sold a little under 6,500 units in its first week for a #158 debut.
On the other side of the planet, Peeping Tom debuted at #12 on the Australian Music charts. I don’t have the exact number of units sold in Australia, but a #12 debut ain’t bad.
In related news, the new Faith No More “You Fat Bastards/Who Cares A Lot?” DVD combo. sold a little under 1,500 units in the U.S. during its first week.
Submitted By: Mr. T (U.S. Charts), Allan Sheard (Billboard Article), & Cory Morton (Australian Charts)

nice, pity the album didn’t make it into the top100, but there’s always next week.
*cough*first post*cough*
June 8th, 2006 at 5:52 AM
Is the DVD available in the UK yet ???
For the guy from Ireland who was looking for PT – go to HMV !!
June 8th, 2006 at 6:42 AM
Funny, an hour ago I was looking for the billboard chart myself. Impressive numbers, must say.
June 8th, 2006 at 7:26 AM
It’s available on Amazon but Region 1 / NTSC only.

June 8th, 2006 at 9:50 AM
#3 on the Independent Albums chart! #1 on the Heatseekers chart! Peeping Tom mania has begun.
June 8th, 2006 at 9:57 AM
Shit, my DVD doesn’t play region 1 stuff – I’ll just buy some Japasonic piece of crap from Argos. That’ll do the job nicely.
I think Firecracker is only on region 1 as well. I saw the world premiere of the film – the director (and his dad) and most of the cast were there…..bar the only one I made the fucking humongous journey for.
And I got dirty looks off Karen Black for slagging her off within earshot…..she looked like a skeleton with dead, lumpy skin nailed to it.
June 8th, 2006 at 12:12 PM
You went to America to see the premiere??
Fuck me Pascal you’re some fan!
Had to laugh when you said Patton wasn’t there !
Look on the internet you can probably enter a code on your current dvd player to play region 1
June 8th, 2006 at 10:54 PM
Popester – nah, mate, the world premiere was at the Trocedero Centre in Laaaaandon!!!!
But it was still a 4 hour train journey to get there!!!
Steve Balderson (director) asked the crowd “who’s come cos they thought Mike was gonna be here?”
Everyone put their hand up….
The film is “interesting” but I honestly wouldn’t have enjoyed it if Mike wasn’t in it (how gay?). The film could have done without him raping his own brother, mind.
June 9th, 2006 at 5:28 AM
Jesus christ, thanks for the spoiler
June 9th, 2006 at 5:53 AM
I was at the premiere too…the director was a bit amazed and bewildered to see so many people attending his first film (they even added an extra screening). he (or his dad, I don’t recall) asked “why are you here?”. there was an uncomfortable silence, and then some goth girl said “I want to see mike patton act!”. cue murmurs of agreement.
I think balderson’s feelings were a bit hurt, to be honest. at that moment, the hopes he had for his film disappeared into a fanboy/girl cul de sac.
June 9th, 2006 at 8:13 AM
@The Pope, Rome: yeah i got it in HMV the other day! it didn’t get distributed until this week, so i guess PT hasn’t really got a chart position here yet.
@Pascal Chimbonda: That’s a hell of a trip dude… was the movie actually worth it? as for DVD players, if you have a DVD-ROM drive you just need some piece of software to make it region free… I use slysoft’s “anyDVD”, works a charm!
June 9th, 2006 at 10:38 AM
Fantomas graduated from the tiny club (slims) in sf to play at the larger fillmore after their 3rd album. I guess with peeping tom debuts outselling fantomas last album we should expect a fillmore or warfield debut from peeping tom
June 9th, 2006 at 11:53 AM
You call seeing Mike Patton rape another bloke a spoiler?!
I’d say thanks! I’ll know when to shut my eyes.
June 10th, 2006 at 2:36 AM
TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE FOR PEEPING TOM!!!!!!!!! I’m there for the Astoria!!!!! Dub Trio (who will no doubt do Patton’s backing) are support.
Ari:
The Firecracker rape scene – well, whatever floats your boat, matey!!!
Portly Jim:
Yeah, bless mr. Balderson – I’ve actually got a comment on the dikenga site, giving my opinion of the film. I used a lot of big words to make me sound clever – I have a good laugh at it everytime I look back for Firecracker updates!!!!
Mayhem:
I worship the man, so for me it was worth it – I really thought he was gonna turn up cos he was promoting the Bjork album in Europe at the time. Cheers for the DVD advice, kidda!!!
June 10th, 2006 at 4:04 AM
I have no idea about sale numbers, but the Peeping Tom record debuted at #8 in Norway’s biggest record shop, Platekompaniet. It’s currently at #15.
June 10th, 2006 at 10:18 AM
Yeah I’d consider it one major-ass spoiler: now the element of surprise is pretty fucking effectively killed off. Well too late now, I’m still dying to see the movie due to its generally positive review ratings, special praises going to the lead acting and visual creativeness. If you can’t handle the scene perhaps you should reconsider watching the movie, since I’ve understood Firecracker circulates strongly around the themes of violence & abuse. Indie movies have a tendency of not always playing it nicely.
And I doubt Balderson minded too much about the Patton craze during the premiere – that’s an imminent side effect bound to happen when hiring one of the most prolific rock artists of our time for a double role. Good PR I’d say, and as already mentioned people have also given honest props for the film’s cinematic achievements.
June 10th, 2006 at 12:04 PM
Can’t handle the scene !? God, I was having a laugh
Loosen up
June 11th, 2006 at 1:39 AM
Ari – Patton’s brother also considered it one ‘major ass-spoiler’, if you know what I mean…….(cue round of applause)
“Is there a proctologist in the house?”
Have you checked out Steve Balderson’s ‘myspace’ site?
June 11th, 2006 at 5:33 AM
Wow, the humour level is just killing me. Sorry for steaming up, but being a sucker for movies (and yeah rape scenes without a question) I’ve developed something of pure hate for crucial spoilers, especially when the person ignorantly blurts it without any warning in the net – can’t reach out to punch the culprit you see =) But yeah whatevs too late now, I’ll end sidetracking from the topic now.
June 11th, 2006 at 11:42 AM
Well I don’t give a toss what happens in it really – MP could be walking round for 90 minutes in a beefburger suit the fans will still wanna see it.
Now just nobody mention what happens in Lost Series 2 past episode 8….
June 11th, 2006 at 11:17 PM
Now that would be a better nickname for you. Idiot.
June 12th, 2006 at 7:35 AM

June 12th, 2006 at 7:37 AM
very witty…
June 12th, 2006 at 10:07 AM
Christ, how long did it take you to come up with ‘Asscal Chimpmonda’?
Very droll.
Now go fuck yourself, you sad cunt.
June 12th, 2006 at 1:32 PM
Probably not as much time as it took you to spoil Firecracker for the rest of us, and it sure is wittier than “Now go fuck yourself, you sad cunt”.
June 12th, 2006 at 2:01 PM
anyone find the lyrics for the peeping tom album? just curious
June 12th, 2006 at 7:31 PM
what’s on the DVD? a live show or just videos?
June 12th, 2006 at 7:41 PM
matt, it’s both.
June 12th, 2006 at 9:24 PM
Andy, do the DVDs have anything new? Additional videos? 5.1 audio mix? Commentaries? Interviews?
More importantly, is the Stripsearch video on there?
Cheers,
BVB
June 13th, 2006 at 5:15 AM
Don’t be a soft twat Asscal its hardly the end of the world is it.
June 13th, 2006 at 6:56 AM
Bionic Vapour: According to the press release, all of FNM’s videos are on there!
Also, this website could do with a forum! phpBB is easy to install Andy, gimme a shout if you require help! Get to it!
June 13th, 2006 at 11:24 AM
Asscal – look, I’m putting an end to this cos I can’t be fucked. Get a life.
June 13th, 2006 at 3:45 PM

June 13th, 2006 at 9:18 PM
hey have you guys seen this interview?

June 14th, 2006 at 1:23 AM
Good darts patredux!
“…if I think back to the collaboration with the Dillinger Escape Plan. Thinking about that makes me want to do it again. ” – Oooooh. That would be good. Their new singer would probably get pissy tho.
June 14th, 2006 at 6:08 AM
wasn’t their singer hired when they did “irony…”? i don’t he’d have much of an issue, given it’ll only do good things for the band in the first place… plus, “irony..” is probably their best work to date!
June 14th, 2006 at 6:17 AM
Nah the current singer joined after the release. Patton wanted to put out an EP with the band but they declined due to the lack of a frontman. Patton offered to fill in and the rest is history.
Irony is a dead scene is easily the best thing DEP have released. I’d love to hear more but I can’t see the new guy standing down…
June 14th, 2006 at 8:41 AM
i dunno dude, i think the new guy would gladly step aside (or duet even) because it means DEP gets free publicity
June 14th, 2006 at 11:40 AM
I feel sorry for the new DEP singer cos “Irony….” set the bar so high that he was never gonna step out of Patton’s shadow. I saw them in Newcastle last year – the band are tight as fuck but the singer just looked like one of the Westlife twins on steriods. And he kept doing these fucking gay arm-twirls.
Patredeux – fucking sweet job on posting that interview, dude. Finally, some decent questions put to the man.
June 14th, 2006 at 9:09 PM
any lyrics for the peeping tom album out yet?
June 14th, 2006 at 9:20 PM
Great find Patredeux!!!
June 14th, 2006 at 9:21 PM
Hey thx. I found that in about the 5th page of a peeping tom search on google.
I really liked the part about Mr. Bungle, he really opened up and said what we all know and feel about that group. No doubt about it Mr. Bungle’s demise is a travisty to the art of music, and you could really feel the remorse in his answer.
Hate to think and even say it in here, but with that answer I can’t dismiss a reunion. Might take a healthy dose of humility, tough for a guy named Patton me thinks.
Take it easy………
June 15th, 2006 at 1:49 AM
ummm… how could ‘Irony is a Dead Scene’ have set the bar when it was already set by ‘Calculating Infinity’?
June 15th, 2006 at 7:04 AM
I reckon Irony is a dead scene pisses all over calculating infinity. A whole different league.
June 15th, 2006 at 7:57 AM
irony > calculating infinity
June 15th, 2006 at 8:59 AM
Lance – have you checked this URL:
http://www.lyricsmania.com/lyrics/peeping_tom_lyrics_8915/
Some of the lyrics are obviously wrong but it’s a starter for 10!!
June 15th, 2006 at 3:06 PM
Not only a different league, a totaly different ballgame IMO =) Putting it in stupid layman’s terms, Calculating ∞ is an unrefined batch of explosive energy monsters, while Irony Is A Dead Scene is an intellect suffering of constant mutations, with more accessible soundscapes missing from DEP’s debut. Both releases are definete peaks in modern metal (both being fucking complex and inspiring), yet direct comparison of which one pisses over the other seem a bit unfair taking the humongous differences in approaches, production styles and clockings. And the 2004 follow-up Miss Machine kicked pretty solid ass (am I the only one who digs Greg Puciato’s vocals?), although it’s fair to say a small hint of commercialism and unoriginality started shining through it – a small disappointment, especially when fellow Relapse bands Pig Destroyer and Mastodon released near-perfect albums at the same year (Terrifyer & Leviathan). Nevertheless, you gotta love DEP for breaking the boundaries of metal over the many past years. Gotta see ‘em live one day.
June 15th, 2006 at 9:30 PM
fucking Patton fanboys. *shakes head*
June 15th, 2006 at 10:49 PM
What do you expect to find on a Patton fansite you tool?
June 16th, 2006 at 12:25 AM
I thought this wasn’t JUST a Patton fansite…Or at least it didn’t used to be, or it isn’t SUPPOSE to be.
June 16th, 2006 at 1:28 AM
Lets face it girls, it pretty much is just a Patton fansite.
June 16th, 2006 at 2:34 AM
Anyone else think a small-scale forum would be good extension for cv.org? Nothing major I mean, but something that would make the flow of topic messages a bit more comprehensive. No big complaint about the site, just a vague improvement suggestion
June 16th, 2006 at 6:22 AM
Considering the site is named after A FNM song and Bungle album and most subjects apply to Patton, I’d say yes, this is a Patton fan site. Deal with it. If you are too cool to visit a Patton fan site, piss and go to a fan site you do like.
June 16th, 2006 at 7:08 AM
Too right – Yo Mama n Asscal – go have a wank – get it out ya system.
Damn fine interview with the man by the way, any others out there? stick em up… please.
June 16th, 2006 at 8:37 AM
@Ari: while i do agree that the comparison of “calculating infinity” and “irony is a dead scene” is unfair because of the approaches etc., they’re still two albums put out by essentially the same band, so they’re going to be compared. bjork albums rarely stay the same, but you’ll still compare them…
Also, Greg’s voice is fantastic. as are his lyrics!
and yes, a forum would be nice. phpBB is free
@Asscal Chimpmonda: it’s a patton-related fansite…. most things posted will deal with patton in fairness.
June 16th, 2006 at 10:25 AM
Theres an interview with Patton in this months Bizarre. I’ve emailed the scans to that Andy dude.
June 16th, 2006 at 11:15 AM
wait, this is a Mike Patton fansite? never would have guessed it.
it was foolish of me to assume that Patton fans wouldn’t be blinded from the light coming off the grease in Mike’s hair. now I know they’re just like britney spears fans and the like: they fucking suck.
June 16th, 2006 at 11:23 AM
seriously guys, if Patton WEREN’T involved, how would you compare the albums? if you actually like it better, then fine.. but to convince yourself that it’s better merely because of the inclusion of Mad Mike is delusional. was it good? yes. was it better than Calculating Infinity? give me a break.
June 16th, 2006 at 12:06 PM
No doubt this site should deal with Patton related stuff, but not ONLY Patton. I guess it really would be foolish of me to expect groupies much more than this, but it’s still dissapointing. Where are the Billy Gould, Bordin, Bottum, Spruance etc news? Those guys continue to make music at one level or another, and sometimes it’s much better than some of the crap Patton is putting out (Kultur Shock, SC3 and Dieselhed are some of the related musical projects that make better stuff than most of Pattons).
June 16th, 2006 at 1:30 PM
@Yo Mama’: the inclusion of patton took dillinger to a whole new route both musically and (obviously) lyrically. it’s superior to their other work, and yeah, i’m not going to lie, it’s greatly helped by the mere fact that patton is there. his influence is all over that project, and if you can’t hear that then you’re the one being delusional. the fact that i like it more then other DEP albums has nothing to do with patton, it’s just a happy musical coincidence.
@Asscal Chimpmonda: I completely agree, but the news on the other FNM, Mr. Bungle, Tomahawk etc. etc. members is VERY under the radar, and often, there isn’t even any news to report.

………………………….!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
June 16th, 2006 at 9:57 PM
Hey! Fellow Peeping Tom fans. Help me (us) out and request Peeping Tom on Live 105 in San Francisco. It’s the only “alternative” rock station in the city, and they have yet to play a Peeping Tom track!!! WTF!
Request line: 415-478-5483
Lets show these punks what we’re made of. As of right now, they play Red Hot Chillipeppers all day. Ewww!
June 16th, 2006 at 11:44 PM
Yeh thats all well and good but what is the common link between those bands? This site wouldn’t exist without Patton.
And pretty much all the people who come on here come for Patton news so don’t get fececous. You just look like an idiot.
June 16th, 2006 at 11:48 PM

And your opinion as to how I look should matter to me because…?
Ah well, I remember the good ol’ end of the 20th century when Bungle/FNM fans used to be able to critisize their favorite musician(s), not to mention be overall intelligent people. I guess those times are gone and we’re doomed to deal with people who might as well be fans of Justin Timberlake.
June 17th, 2006 at 3:40 AM
Timberlake rocks!!!
June 17th, 2006 at 6:22 AM
Have you guys seen the new video for Mojo? It’s doing the rounds now…

Go here, then click on “Rage” – then in the scroll area in the right, select Peeping Tom’s Mojo. Go nuts!
Bash
June 17th, 2006 at 8:34 AM
Look, fucker – will you, that cunt “Yo,shusi” and every other sad case who revels in Patton-baiting, get the fuck off this site. It’s wankers like you that got the Ipecac boards closed down.
Get back to listening to “My Chemical Romance”.
June 17th, 2006 at 8:48 AM
1. Who are “My Chemical Romance”?
2. I never posted on any Ipecac board.
3. Instead of viewing me as some flamer, try really really hard to see my point.
June 17th, 2006 at 8:54 AM
Look, son – I don’t give a fuck. Now change your fucking name, bitch.
June 17th, 2006 at 9:30 AM
Don’t give a fuck or not able to?
Make me change it

Asscal: quit the crap dude, it’s not worth it. this stuff got the ipecac boards closed, as mentioned. hopefully this site expands and gets it’s own boards some time. i’d hate to think we get a load of asshats ruining the intelligent debate that could arise
June 17th, 2006 at 12:13 PM
“Make me change it” he says, hiding behind the internet.
Respect.
Not.
June 17th, 2006 at 1:23 PM
Patton is the link between all this bands, hell yeahh, but i really dont giva a damn about postin about what he did, or what he said or what he´s gonna do, all the fukin time like people like u do omniwan, he´s the center here, but without the rest of the band members, he IS nothing, at least off course u like to know only about him all the time and ignore to the people who made of Patton a celebrity, wich is not my case, and either of alot of other people.
Actually the last post i left was for people like u to respond, and u fell directly, lol, i wonder who is the idiot now???
June 17th, 2006 at 2:25 PM
Hey Pope: Why don’t you look at the post this schmoe posted before me before you come along with your redundant internet insults?
Way to go Star A. Dreamer, that’s the spirit.
June 17th, 2006 at 5:01 PM
I respect the artists that work with Patton and the work they do together. I understand that without many of these people, we wouldn’t have some of the class material that has been released over the years.
The point i’m trying to make is that to come onto a Mike Patton fansite to blatantly take this piss is a case of someone having far too much time on their hands. There is a lot of music I hate but I don’t go around their respective websites dissing the people that do like it.
Oh and Star Ass Dreamer (ha ha ha ha ha did you see what I did there…) I didn’t fall for anything, I just think you’re a schmuck.
June 17th, 2006 at 7:03 PM
Yeahh, yeahh, that bored and constant speech of respect with the rest of musicians, i have heared it so many times, that even u dont believe it onmi-moron. U insist in that this is a M.P fansite, and am tired of express that ur wrong, off course ur hilarious judge is based on the last topics that have been added here, well in that case yeahh is a Patton forum site, cuz lately everything is related with Peeping tom enviroment, and off course u keep postin any shit that appears here, thing wich indicates that u worry about everything wich have nothing to do with the main reason to be here: music, and not only music related to Patton, at least that is what says up here as u can read, (can u read do u??).
People like u need to go to visit web pages dedicated to celebritys with glamour or fashion, get a work for paparazzi or something, wich worries about everything with the people lifes, they way they take a shit, or what they speak, this is what u show here every time u post an stupid comment.
Ohh u didnt felt?, then why u posted after i did??, u only show that ur stupid enough to spend some time argumentin shit that none here cares.
I just think you’re a schmuck. LOL
June 17th, 2006 at 9:48 PM
go fuck yourself, dude. Patton may have a great vocal range and he may have been involved with some fantastic projects (Faith No More, Mr. Bungle and Fantomas), but he’s also been involved in some dumb shit… for instance, “lookaway”, by Sepultura. that song fucking SUCKS… but he’s still a fantastic vocalist and is still involved in more interesting projects than anyone else I can think of at this moment. The Dillinger Escape Plan are a fantastic band, but even being a Patton fan, I can admit that the Irony EP is NOT their best work. like I said, it’s damn good, but there’s no touching the masterpiece that is Calculating Infinity. THEN I SHOT HER THEN I SHOT HER THEN I SHOT HER!
in closing, maybe you should stay with yo mama. she can do your laundry and cook for you.
June 17th, 2006 at 9:49 PM
oh.. and while I was registered on the Ipecac boards, I wasn’t one of those fuckwads who would spout racist shit or was just an ignoramus in general.
Patton’s a dick who happens to be very talented. that’s about it.
June 18th, 2006 at 12:33 AM
You are slowly but surely proving yourself to be one of the stupidest people on the internet. I love Patton, but I also love Billy Gould and Trey Spruance. I don’t blindly worship EVERYTHING the man does, and I expect other people to be able to have some critisicm left in them as well, and the whole point is….THIS SITE ISNT SUPPOSE TO BE ONLY ABOUT PATTON!!! I recently read that Gould is producing some band from Germany, where are the news about that? I’m sure that other related people have enough news stories about them, but where are they?
June 18th, 2006 at 6:11 AM
Asscal, Star, Yo shusi, et al:
Yes, it’s true; no-one has to like everything Mike does and the site is not centred around Mike alone.
However, I do love everything he does (or at least everything I’ve heard) and I believe that I can jolly well talk about anything I please.
If you feel the site is distinctly lacking information about Billy, etc. then why don’t you post updates about them?
June 18th, 2006 at 6:24 AM
Patton footage from the Zorn Barbican Centre gig is starting to filter through on Youtube (paste this link):
http://youtube.com/watch?v=M-6CKkZ8YZQ&search=mike%20patton
My London mates were there and are there again tonight for the Moonchild stuff – I’ve been promised some pics (and possibly some video footage) so I’ll post it if the quality is good.
June 18th, 2006 at 11:55 AM
What was the insult? I’m pointing a fact out you big baby.
June 18th, 2006 at 12:15 PM
Two Cents:
Andy posts stuff all the time that deals with the other “branches” of the six degrees of Patton. It’s just that, compared to the amount of output Patton puts out, there’s just not that much news. I mean, shit, it takes an average of three years for a new SC3 album and Trey hasn’t produced an album for another band since Estradasphere’s Buck Fever back in 2000…hell, I’m on Web of Mimicry’s e-mail news letter list and they haven’t sent one out in 9 months. Patton, by contrast, must have cloned himself or something to release this much music.
As for the bickering…no offense guys, but Christ is it off-putting. The solution is simple…don’t ever respond. I know that it’s human nature to want to get in the last “zinger”, especially with the anonimity the web offers, but I guarantee, the only thing people ever remember is that one was foolish enough to give credibility to the comment by responding to it (thus, encouraging more lame ass comments). No offense…I check this site out everyday and am really grateful for those of you that find interesting stuff that you then share (especially that last interview that “Patredux” posted) and I try to return the gesture when I’m lucky enough to have stumbled upon it first. This other crap, though…Jesus.
I’m a fairly big ignoramous when it comes to Web design and Forums and all that, but isn’t there a way to police some of this shit (I’m talking to you here, Andy)?
June 18th, 2006 at 12:48 PM
Jesus Christ, you people are like children. Knock off the bickering already. I’m going to turn off commenting on this post. Let’s not start it elsewhere.

National Fuel Gas Company Recaps…
WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y.—-The Board of Directors of National Fuel Gas Company yesterday sent a letter to New Mountain Vantage Advisers, L.L.C….
