Server Move
We’re packing up and moving everything to a new home. Other the next few days, there may be some downtime here and over at our sister site, Bungle Fever. The move will be done in phases, the first being the Bungle Fever BBS tomorrow night. If things go well, there will only be a few hours of downtime. If things don’t go as well, there will be a couple of days of downtime. If everything screws up, I should have it all back up in a week or so. The goal is to have everything moved, working, and back to normal by August 11th.
Ipecac Recording is no longer hosted on my server and will not be affected by this move.

August 2nd, 2006 at 6:00 AM
NO no ee NO!!
August 2nd, 2006 at 6:35 AM
What is the big deal? He is moving the sites to a new server… probably for good reasons. Is it really going to kill anyone if the site is down for a little while?
Give Andy a break! I don’t see any of you hosting this on your servers or donating $$ to keep this site going. So enjoy it for what it is and thank Andy for his work!

3 cheers for Andy! but what am I gonna do for a few days – I need my daily volante fix.
August 2nd, 2006 at 9:39 AM
Daily volante fix? I’ve seen more activity up a nuns crevice!!!!
Seriously, theres about 3 comments a day and like one update a month!!! I’m sure you’ll survive, Bowen!!!!

good luck with the move, but i wonder when the site’s back will it have new stuff (layout, database etc. etc.)?
August 2nd, 2006 at 12:21 PM
Its not hard to move a server to another site so there should be little downtime. I don’t think there will be anything new – he’s only moving it afterall.
August 2nd, 2006 at 4:56 PM
No don’t worry no one will notice the downtime. In fact you should close this site down. At least put up Stef Negal’s (?) database for us to entertain ourselves with, damn.

Add a solid BBS
August 3rd, 2006 at 12:36 AM
A BBS would be nice, otherwise we have to hijack these blogs and can’t make our own topics. Blogs and a BBS could coexist.
August 3rd, 2006 at 12:39 AM
Actually there is a BBS here, but no one wants to touch it lol.
August 3rd, 2006 at 12:51 PM
Yeah, put up Stefan Negele’s database man!! I never even got to see it, so if it could be revived…a lot of people would be grateful.
August 3rd, 2006 at 9:09 PM
Oh man it was cool, it had all articles. Before the internet (or before I or most people had it) I had to actually go to the library and actually get Kerrang and these other magazines on microfilm and read them on those big projector type screens lol. They had this book that you looked up your subject like Faith No More and it told you what mag month and page they had interviews on. Libraries have all this information, but nowadays it’s not necessary cause of the internet. But it looks like Faith No More has fallen so deep into the dinosaur age not even CV will host these articles! Better go to the library :/ On the internet at least you can see video interviews and concerts though, that’s one thing you can’t do at a library.

I never saw this database but it sounds great. Let do something proactive to get it back!
Begging emails for a start!!
August 4th, 2006 at 12:06 PM
YES!! BRING THE DATABASE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!
By the way, thanks for the info, I’m Batman.
August 5th, 2006 at 4:25 AM
The database exists, silly. http://www.negele.org/db
August 7th, 2006 at 8:44 AM
Goodluck with the move Andy. We appreciate all the work you put into things!
August 8th, 2006 at 4:43 AM
Nice 1 I’ll have alook through that Cheers
August 8th, 2006 at 5:52 AM
Wow… there is a lot to get thru. Most of the pictures aren’t working for me tho.
August 8th, 2006 at 6:15 AM
Yeahh, still exists!!, yeahh he is silly lol
August 8th, 2006 at 2:12 PM
If you don’t know you don’t know…
Anyway, I remember everyone arguing about what happened to Mike’s hand. Here’s the answer from the horses mouth…courtesy of the database!
Why do you go so mad on stage?
‘I always feel a need to provoke, especially if we’re supporting some band like Guns N’ Roses and people aren’t really listening. By insulting them, you make them at least look: it’s the lowest common denominator. When I do flips, I always land correctly, I only bruise myself. But I do have an ongoing fight with glass which I keep losing. Once my arms were flailing and I cut four tendons and the main nerve in my right hand. It’s practically numb now.’
August 8th, 2006 at 2:18 PM
Well for the longest time I’d been told that it was at this address: cv.org/database. So…there you go.
August 8th, 2006 at 3:05 PM
Silly? You’re one of a few people in the world who knew that address! Unless it’s something Mr. Bungle fans knew about, cause I don’t go to their pages. I don’t think Andy knew about it, or else he would’ve told us about it RIGHT Andy?
August 8th, 2006 at 3:25 PM
I dunno, I’m just amazed that only now after all the stuff going on about the database needing to be brought back suddenly it comes back. Where the fuck was it all this time anyway?
August 8th, 2006 at 5:17 PM
@The Pope: Wow, i always thought the hand thing was just an urban myth… crazy.
as for the database, well… pictures aint really working so it’s kind of pointless tbh!
August 14th, 2006 at 4:27 AM
Well about fuckin’ time!!!
What went wrong??
August 14th, 2006 at 5:33 AM
cv is aliiiiiiiiiiive
anyway, server moves are always a bitch… especially when you’re running multiple sites (which andy is), so i’d say he was sorting out various databases etc. and cv was down on the priority list
but lets hope for more content, maybe new staff, and the restoration of the patton databse
