Wow!!, it`s impressive the way this place has changed, how is that most of u have been blind all this time??, the Mike Patton`s brand has been spread around all this place, and u spend ur time here argumentin only about morals or behaviors that Patton must own for u to agree, WTF!!!???..
I said it on another topic, i really fukin miss the way this place were once, u could know anything about everyone, right now there are Patton topics everywhere!!, why the hell is that??..
The main problem here is that most of u think this guy is a god just cuz u love all the music he makes, what leaves u without a very good judge don`t get me wrong, i really like many of the Patton`s music, but the difference is that i think he may be the perfect complement for any musician, what makes of him a very valuable piece, but not a fukin porn rock-star like the one ur representin here, haven`t u asked urself what he bloody hell is happenning to the other people we know very well from FNM or Mr. Bungle??, why is that now all is coming around Patton and Patton and Patton???, jeeeeezzzzzz, makes me lose the hopes on this place day by day, maybe in a couple of weeks we are gonna have our “god” in fukin MTV with the precious hairnet right in place.
Hey, you’re right about the moltiplication of Patton’s posts. Maybe too many and few not really interesting or with a little audience (including mine of course). I think in a way they reflect the multiple directions the artist (Patton) is taking.
Sometimes when I open this page and read all the comments produced by a post a feel pleased, sometime I don’t. It looks like people wasting energy for such a subjective topic (music, in this case Patton’s) saying which thing is better, which isn’t and so on.
I don’t believe FNM were Patton centered, but when I started listening to them (too late) I was attracted by his style, and then I discovered his side projects. I don’t like all of them: Tomahawk are uselss to me, Fantomas not really original (I’m a loyal Naked City fan:-), Maldoror is crap, Lovage uhmmmm, but I like Peeping Tom.
That’s because (as you said) Patton is not a god of music and by doing so many different things he can’t please always eveybody. He doesn’t even care of it. He just goes on his way, following his instict like every musician. The difference between him and other rock and roll stars is that he always tries to do new things instead of repeating his old successful pieces; so I guess what everyone really loves of Mike Patton is his attitude. Right?
I agree, I’d like to hear about Billy Gould and Roddy Bottum (and that other drummer guy, haha just kidding Mike Bordin). I’m pretty sure they’ve got a lot of interviewers asking for interviews but they turn them down, like they’re retired or semi-retired and taking it easy on vacation. It’s just Patton doing all this stuff who takes on the interviews.

Well, just want to tell everybody (Star A. Dreamer in particular) that I wrote a comment that for some strange reason is still under moderation. The fact is that it should have been posted on sept 19, 8.29 am…so when it’s posted it’s going to be out of time.
I think that you are missing the point Omniwan, i am damn positive that must exist more than a couple of news around there that most of us don´t know because we come here to knows them, but they just are not here, Spruance (with SC3) for example, is preparing the next disc of the band, as part of the “Book of truth”, i ask you; where do you find that kind of news here??
I can only hope Star A. Dreamer starts his own former-FNM-band-members-related news website, so he can stop coming here to complain all the time. all this freedom is what makes democracies so boring )))
I think you are missing the point dude. What I was agreeing with is the fact that this is now a community run forum where anyone can post news. If its out there and you know about it, do the right thing and post it for everyone else. Its not going to post itself is it?
Anticipating the Secret Chiefs 3 “Book of Souls”, this Fall we will be putting out several 7″ recordings — these will include offerings from SC3 satellite bands, the Electromagnetic Azoth. Ishraqiyun, UR (at least three, maybe four of them!) and Traditionalists. These recordings will NOT be on the upcoming SC3 album (except for an alternate version of one song, maybe a second), and will be limited to 1000 copies each! We’ll try not to slay you too bad on the price just for the ‘rarity’; but they’ll be on good vinyl and printed extra nicely, so they won’t exactly be cheap either. A lot of this shit will NEVER be available on CD. We seek to respect and promote the 7″ medium as never before! So no, the material here is anything but “throwaway”, as sometimes is the prevailing habit.
Star A . Dreamer , you want to know why Patton is talked about the most?
If anyone has full control or decent control of their fingers and arms and have a decent I.Q, THEY CAN LEARN TO PLAY GUITAR OR BASS GUITAR. If someone has decent hand-eye coordination, THEY CAN PLAY DRUMS OR KEYBOARD.
BUT
Not everyone has the same voice. A voice is unique to a person, and it just so happens Patton has one of the most incredible voices anyone here has heard, and he makes tons of music with it. He also has one of the most creative musical minds out their, making him even more unique and great.
I’m not dissing any of the other people he has worked with but he is simply just the most impressive. Who do you think we are gonna talk about? That one half way decent bass player whose name only a few of us know of from that one band?
I think it’s obvious that Star is dissinchanted with what Patton has put out since FNM. It’s the collaboration between these other creative talents and Pattons awesome voice that made what Star believes is the best music of Pattons catalog.
Having myself just gotten back into Pattons material as of late fall somewhat into that line of thinking. But I think it’s mostly due to hanging on to the past. I remember having a hard time getting into the first Bungle album until after I saw them live, after that the music took on a whole new life and there was no turning back for me.
I saw Moonchild live…… I did’nt get it. Maybe it’s because I have’nt been around for the last few years and whitnessed the progression of Pattons music.
Even Disco Volante took at least 10 listens too and than a lyric read along with listening, to turn me into a convert. And I’ve been listening to that album for the last 5 months non-stop. I’m not sure if it’s due to the intense creativity (which I claim to all my unbeliving friends) or familiarity by repetition.
I know this site has been a great source for me finding out matterial about everybody that Patton has collaborated with. If not I would’nt have spent hundreds of dollars this last year.
It’s about individual taste at the end of the day. The site is set up for a community post/update. Lets get it on !!!

While am still waiting for my last post to appear (moderator), and while i read ur conclusions about me, i have to say something and i hope this time it desnt get moderate.
I don`t agree with what 4degrees has said, we already know what Patton can do with many different muscicians, but at least to me it very clear that the quality of music he has now is not the same we know from the past, am pretty sure that most of u will never forget about the magnificent things he did in FNM and in Mr. bungle or in great albums like “Mit gas”, u say he is unique and the mastermind behind this bands, well, u are missing great fact, in this bands he is only just one more of a team, even in the compositions on albums like Angel Dust or King for a day wasn`t even from his “sacred” touch, the leader in tomahwk is not him, it`s Duane Dennison, but without Paton and Rutmanis, wouldn`t be the same way, and thats why i say, Mike Patton is a great complement, maybe a perfect one, but by himself in music he just doesn`t reach the awesome level that we knew of him in this bands.
U want some examples??, well u just have to compare Peeping Tom, with the “Album of the year” or with “california” (for example), it`s just like to see heaven and hell, why??, cuz A.O.T.Y is a work made from a balanced and a experimemted group of musicians, and P.T is just made from Patton, and honestly i don`t see anything “marvelous” when i listen to this crap…
U are giving him too many credit, most that the one he deserves and with that making the Big damn mistake of understimate several names and musicians of top class that we will never see again in other bands like we saw them years ago, u just doesn´t see the roots where he comes from and i just don`t agree, and i will never agree, it`s not fair for Billy, Spruance, Dennison, what are they then?? a bunch of average musicians???, hell no 4 degrees!!!….

It is not that i come here since years ago to see it by myself like star and other guys, but i get the point, and if you take it as a complain then accept that in a simple way is true, it´s only a matter of search and count, why give to Patton so many credit when not all his music is awesome like the people who LISTEN to him from a year or 2 thinks so?.
I do not only think that star has a reason to say what he thinks about it, but i see that there are alot of newbies that love all the stuff that Patton makes because they don´t know the way he was born in music when he played in high school times with his friends in Bungle and in his begginings in FNM when Jim Martin brought him to the band.

Now u see what am talkin about??, some of u say this is a Patton forum, well then i say FUK THAT!!, this shit wasn`t happening by the time i got here, and believe me that was about some years ago, yikes!!, so much time has passed??, so much things has already changed??.
I`ll try to get some news that are not related to Patton, but first even if i found something, Andy must agree for publish it later, but that doesn`t mean u all must wait for my success, u all can do this too, so i suggest to start searchin for what we really care now, this Patton-mania is makin me sick!!.

While am still waiting for my last post to appear (moderator), and while i read ur conclusions about me, i have to say something and i hope this time it desnt get moderate.
I don`t agree with what 4degrees has said, we already know what Patton can do with many different muscicians, but at least to me it very clear that the quality of music he has now is not the same we know from the past, am pretty sure that most of u will never forget about the magnificent things he did in FNM and in Mr. bungle or in great albums like “Mit gas”, u say he is unique and the mastermind behind this bands, well, u are missing great fact, in this bands he is only just one more of a team, even in the compositions on albums like Angel Dust or King for a day wasn`t even from his “sacred” touch, the leader in tomahwk is not him, it`s Duane Dennison, but without Paton and Rutmanis, wouldn`t be the same way, and thats why i say, Mike Patton is a great complement, maybe a perfect one, but by himself in music he just doesn`t reach the awesome level that we knew of him in this bands.
U want some examples??, well u just have to compare Peeping Tom, with the “Album of the year” or with “california” (for example), it`s just like to see heaven and hell, why??, cuz A.O.T.Y is a work made from a balanced and a experimemted group of musicians, and P.T is just made from Patton, and honestly i don`t see anything “marvelous” when i listen to this crap…
U are giving him too many credit, most that the one he deserves and with that making the Big damn mistake of understimate several names and musicians of top class that we will never see again in other bands like we saw them years ago, u just doesn´t see the roots where he comes from and i just don`t agree, and i will never agree, it`s not fair for Billy, Spruance, Dennison, what are they then?? a bunch of average musicians???, hell no 4 degrees!!!….

It is not that i come here since years ago to see it by myself like star and other guys, but i get the point, and if you take it as a complain then accept that in a simple way is true, it´s only a matter of search and count, why give to Patton so many credit when not all his music is awesome like the people who LISTEN to him from a year or 2 thinks so?.
I do not only think that star has a reason to say what he thinks about it, but i see that there are alot of newbies that love all the stuff that Patton makes because they don´t know the way he was born in music when he played in high school times with his friends in Bungle and in his begginings in FNM when Jim Martin brought him to the band.
I ask you dog and cav, The same kind freedom that people like you have to post and comment nonesenses like the sale of a mere hairnet??, my god!!
