Just another ripoff from RHINO/WARNER
Rant time.
Well I don’t know about you guys (and galls), I am getting sick of the RHINO franchise, 27 of the 44 tracks are from “Real Thing, Brixton and Dust with no new material on any of the 3!!! yes that’s 3 Cd’s.
With all that space you would have thought that there was room for the studio of WORM and maybe 3 or 4 demo’s

I think we should boycott the release and not buy it! then Rhino might realise that some new material might be a good thing to reap the rewards from the Faith No More licence.
A bit hypocritical I know as I have already purchased the CD as you can see from my page, damn collectors bug. But you know what I am getting at.

i bought it too, sadly. lots of errors in the tracklist, spelling, “live” when not, and missed words (ex. “Underwater” with no “Love”). no liner notes or new photos.
catch 22 - if no one buys it Rhino will think there is no interest and stop releasing anything at all?!
wish Rhino would release more live dvds, i’m sure there’s FNM pro shot foreign MTV shows or something out there - ‘92, ‘95, ‘97.
or even re-release all the albums with their respective bonus tracks.
or all the rarities - b-sides, covers, remixes. that’d make a better 3 disc comp (or at least 2 discs)! or even you fat b**tards in its entirety, in order!

I agree with you 100% on this Fantomasnomore. It really pisses me off that once again ANOTHER one of these “cash in” FNM CD’s is released. It means nothing to die hard fans like us! I have not brought one of the many hits CD’s since This Is It: The Hits. Supposably Puffy has a few demos off Angel Dust locked away never to see the light of day because Jim played so poorly on them - well I would still love to hear them! Its like the post further down about Angel Dust been re-released on vinyl and the ltd edition gold CD. Like yourself, I have the orginal 12″ and the ltd edition CZE gold CD. So once again it seems pointless! Great though I suppose for people that missed them the first time around….
Come on RHINO, sort it out!!

Well said Tim! As you can see I am new to the CV community so hello everyone!! Been an FNM fan since Angel Dust and this is something that I feel so strongly about! Im sure we all have lots of, ahem, “unofficial” DVD and CD’s but something new would be so welcoming. I mean for fecks sake, the Who Care’s A Lot DVD never got released in the UK! Whats all that about!!? Now that is something that I would have brought seeing as its FNM’s only official DVD. There are so many live shows that just must be gathering dust somewhere. What a waste…..

I just don’t understand the point of this. Does anyone who cares not already have all of these songs? Why not release something die hard fans have been waiting 10+ years for? Unfinished Angel Dust tracks, B sides, demos, live DVD or collection? There’s loads of good quality pro-shot stuff on YouTube, why can’t anyone give it an official release? Do a DVD set of the best shows from each era, ala the KISS live DVDs.
I bought the Who Cares A Lot CD simply for the bonus CD with previously unreleased tracks, and I bought the WCAL VHS and later DVD. That’s the extent of my fanaticism, though. I’m holding out for some original content.

Dave: thanks for the complement on my site, its taken me a while to set it up. I started it as a reference site for myself as most FNM sites are derelict and no one at the time had pressing info with images.
If you look at the history of FNM nobody has released stuff for the fans really. On rare occasions I guess like the Japanese press of AD with Worm studio, the US press of Songs To Make Love To with Das Schutzenfest, the Argentinian King For A Day with Evidence Spanish version and a few live tracks thrown in for good measure but thats it, you could count the rest on your fingers which for a 12 year career aint that good.
As for the DVD release, we wanted it and we got it finally 7 years to late mind.
I don’t think we will see anything new in the future, but then again it is the 20th anniversary of Real next year so who knows.
Now after I have written all this it just struck me that RHINO might have only bought the rights to the tracks on the CD’s or the albums which would leave the rest of the stuff in the SLASH and respective band members vaults.
Just a thought.

No problem Fantomasnomore - that must have understandably taken you ages to set up. I came accross it a while ago but have only recently bothered to sort out an internet connection for myself and get a laptop! Great effort on your part all the same.
I remember paying around £30 to get an import of the JAP version of Angel Dust around 8 years ago just to hear the Patton version of Worm! Well worth it though. But as you say, extras like that were so few and far between.
Good point about the “Real Thing’s” 20 year anniversary coming up. I wont hold my breath though……….what is it with FNM being so forgotten about since they split up? I really hope I am wrong with such a land mark coming up. Knowing the way that these record companys work it wouldnt surprise me if we see a double CD issue of the Real Thing and Live at Brixton!
You have a point - Slash may have a lot to answer for and of course the band themselves…….

listen i love all my albums and continue to buy them it doesnt really matter to me if they are all the same. i just love listenin g to them over and over again although i wud love to have lets lynch the landlord on cd as my lp doesnt work

thanks for that im gonna try and get it coz its a fantastic song that shud of been released…….. do you know wher i can get thru the wall usa 92 live i had it and it got stolen from my car and now i cant get it at all???
