Domain Name for Sale
I have decided to place the cv.org domain up for sale. It was a difficult decision after owning the domain for 13 years, but in actuality, a high-value 2-letter domain is being wasted on this site. This does NOT mean I am shutting down Caca Volante . It only means that I will be moving the site to a different domain when the domain sells.

Don’t blame you Andy. I hope you make some cash off the sale. I hope you get a good replacement domain.

Ok I’ll give you .99 cents for it, let me know if you’re interested.

Is it really a high value domain name? It’s two random letters.

well its a shame…wonder who will buy it… why not make it last as long as FNM’s career?

Good luck with the sale!

Batman. CV (curriculum Vitae). Many recruitment agencies would jump at this.

For me, it is kind of sad that CV.org will be leaving us soon. I understand and respect Andy’s decision to sell it, but CV.org has been a site I have been to for a LONG time. It will be sad to see it go.
Do you know what you would replace it with? I noticed cacavolante.com is already taken.

Yeah, some squatter in Houston has it. Bastard.
I got this domain back when people played by the rules and registered .org domains for anything that was non-commercial. It was generally frowned upon to register a .com for something like this site, but now I wish I had. It was even available at the time.
So I’ve decided this site will be reincarnated as the Caca Volante Network, which will encompass this news blog, the mailing list, and links off to related sites that fall within the CV category. The new site will live at http://cacavolante.net. I haven’t configured it yet, but I should have this site moved over to it in a few weeks.

This squatter must have offered it to you? how much does he want for it?
July 2nd, 2008 at 8:30 AM
No, he didn’t offer it to me and I didn’t even ask. I don’t want to deal with squatters. cacavolante.net fits better with what I want to do anyway. I don’t need .com.

andy, do you know anything about http://negele.org/db/ ? or if its possible to get songs off it? it tells me something about a username and password? and throughout it has [CV database] …. i find the site sorta confusing.. but i guess my biggest question is what is it? or what was it? just lists?

This site isn’t supposed to look different. It’s just a move. The blog was pretty much all that made up cv.org. Now this blog will be just a part of cacavolante.net and not the whole site. That’s the only difference so far.
The Caca Volante Database was an archive of everything and anything (performances, releases, appearances, etc.) ever done by Faith No More and Mr. Bungle. Unfortunately, it was lost from my server got hacked several years ago. The creator of the CVDB, Stefan Negele, has been running a back-up copy at his own personal site for a while now. It is no longer maintained and broken in a few places, but hopefully we’ll get it all patched up and moved back over to cacavolante.net in the near future.

).
Really takes me back to what I remember as the “golden age” of trading, round 1999-2000. Great times – do people trade anymore? I stopped having enough time.
I miss mr Bungle being active.
Is the tabs site gone? I had a couple of midis I did on there from when I was about 16 (including the only SC3 midi on the net I know of
Anyways, super respect to you Andy, and good old Stefan. Keep on rockin.
