AVENGED SEVENFOLD recently recorded a cover version of the BLACK SABBATH classic “Paranoid” for the new Warner Music Group release “Covered, A Revolution In Sound: Warner Bros. Records”, which came out on February 24. [...] AVENGED vocalist M. Shadows told U.K.’s Metal Hammer magazine that the band originally wanted to cover MR. BUNGLE‘s 1991 track “Strubb [sic] (A Dub)” for the compilation before settling on“Paranoid”. “We were very excited to cover a song from MR. BUNGLE, but then we were told that there was a list of songs that we could cover, not choose anything Warner‘s had put out,” Shadows revealed.

Was this because Warner Bros. still hates Mr. Bungle or just coincidence?

Twitter has been around for over two years, but it seems to have reached critical mass recently.

Billy Gould (@mrgould) started using it to communicate about the Faith No More reunion.  Then Roddy Bottom (@roddybottom) joined.  Even Chuck Mosley (@chuckmosley) has an account now.  With the launch of the new website, Ipecac Recordings (@ipecacrec) is now on Twitter as well.

I often come across things of interest, but don’t get around to posting them until it’s old news or I’ve forgotten about them entirely.  So, with the recent popularity of Twitter, I realized that I can send out tweets much more frequently and more timely than I can update this site.  So for fresh content, follow @CacaVolante on Twitter.

Kerrang! Magazine has always seemed to promote Faith No More more than other rock music magazines, so it comes no surprise that the news of Faith No More’s reunion would take the cover of the March 11th issue.

In this week’s Kerrang! magazine we welcome back the newly reformed Faith No More! 

After an 11 year split, FNM are reforming for this year’s Kerrang!-sponsored Download festival. We chronicle how the San Franciscan nutjobs became the finest – and moist shocking – band of the ’90s!

According to a Digital Spy interview with Krist Novoselic, bands like Faith No More “paved the way for Nirvana.”

“Living on the margins for so long, living in the underground scene it’s like: ‘Oh this will never catch on’.

“But it did, and it was starting to change where you had bands like Faith No More and Jane’s Addiction.

“They were these rock bands but they were more like alternative or edgy. Then they paved the way for Nirvana.”

Douglas Esper recently interviewed Chuck Mosley about his new album and asked him what he thinks about the Faith No More reunion.

Southside and Hurricane are twin festivals that take place at the same time.  We don’t yet know which specific day FNM will be playing at each of these festivals.
