Avenged Sevenfold Wanted to Cover Mr. Bungle’s “Stubb (A Dub)” But Wasn’t Allowed
Monday, March 30th, 2009AVENGED SEVENFOLD recently recorded a cover version of the BLACK SABBATH classic “Paranoid” for the new Warner Music Group release “Covered, A Revolution In Sound: Warner Bros. Records”, which came out on February 24. [...] AVENGED vocalist M. Shadows told U.K.’s Metal Hammer magazine that the band originally wanted to cover MR. BUNGLE‘s 1991 track “Strubb [sic] (A Dub)” for the compilation before settling on“Paranoid”. “We were very excited to cover a song from MR. BUNGLE, but then we were told that there was a list of songs that we could cover, not choose anything Warner‘s had put out,” Shadows revealed.
Was this because Warner Bros. still hates Mr. Bungle or just coincidence?
