Faith No More covers performed by Fake No More

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

As you all know Faith No More played the Club Paradiso in Amsterdam (Netherlands) a couple of times, and still their music echoes in there… Here is a clip with Fake No More from January 21st 2008 performing Easy, Ashes to ashes, Epic and We care alot. More information about Fake No More is found at www.fakenomore.com.

There is also a nice remix of Jizzlobber by a french DJ called Randomatik Blast in wich the same guys (Terry Bogus) adds vocals and guitars… find it at www.terrybogus.com.

Just another ripoff from RHINO/WARNER

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

 Rant time.

Well I don’t know about you guys (and galls), I am getting sick of the RHINO franchise, 27 of the 44 tracks are from “Real Thing, Brixton and Dust with no new material on any of the 3!!! yes that’s 3 Cd’s.

With all that space you would have thought that there was room for the studio of WORM and maybe 3 or 4 demo’s

http://www.pattonmad.com/Faith%20No%20More/Pages/TheWorksCDUK.html

I think we should boycott the release and not buy it! then Rhino might realise that some new material might be a good thing to reap the rewards from the Faith No More licence.

A bit hypocritical I know as I have already purchased the CD as you can see from my page, damn collectors bug. But you know what I am getting at.

Weird version of King for A Day

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

Here’s a link to a goofy cover of ‘King for a Day’ called ‘Fool for a day’ by Hentai Rock Cartel. Interesting/Disgraceful… Hopefully will upset hardcore FNM fans… :) http://www.myspace.com/hentairockcartelviolence

Thanks to Donna for uploading this and to Dave for bringing it to my attention.

Angel Dust Re-released

Friday, June 6th, 2008

Levi Peckham just sent this in:

Angel Dust is going to be re-released (and half-speed mastered) on 180g VINYL by Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab:

Also limited edition GOLD CD:

Since I believe Angel Dust was an all-analog recording, the half-mastered vinyl should prove to be very faithful to the original tape(s).

Street Fighter IVs “Epic” Trailer

Sunday, June 1st, 2008

Joystiq just posted this to their site:

The font of incredible trailers continues to pour from the bounteous spigot of CAPtivate ‘08 — the above trailer for Street Fighter IV went live rather subtly last night, only to deliver a patented E. Honda “thousand hand bitch slap” to our unprepared senses this Sunday morning. It even includes one of our favorite songs to sing from Rock Band: Faith No More’s “Epic”. We don’t know why seeing Blanka go all sparky to the disjointed vocals of Mike Patton gets us so hyped, but our excitement for the revivification of what many would argue is the greatest arcade fighting series ever has just increased tenfold.

Check out Joystiq for the original article.

Bizarre Mash Up-Stripsearch meets Im A Flirt

Monday, October 22nd, 2007

I don’t know if this is the best or the worst thing I’ve heard recently, but Claude Reigns has done a mash up of two artists reknowned for pissing on their fans, albeit in different contexts.

Its R. Kelly’s summer smash “Im a Flirt” mixed with Faith No More’s lost classic “Stripsearch”.

It’s strangely compelling!

Imperial Teen Announce Tour

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

In support of their forthcoming album “The Hair, The TV, The Baby and The Band” Imperial Teen hits the road.

From their myspace page:

“Imperial Teen is back!! With sly style and knowing sass, Will, Roddy, Jone and Lynn return with their trademark infectious hooks and impeccable pop sensibilities. Let the party begin!! The Hair the TV the Baby & the Band is the first Imperial Teen record in over 5 years, but it never misses a beat. It’s a career defining album for sure. On first listen you can just feel how much fun these guys and gals are having making music together. From the upbeat shimmy of “Shim Sham” and “Sweet Potato”, to the more reflective cool of “Room With A View” and “What You Do”; from the full on romp of “Everything” and “One Two”, to the seductive vamp of “Fallen Idol”…every song seems pitch perfect. You can sense that this is a band that is comfortable in its own skin. Recorded over three weeks at Kingsize Studios with longtime collaborators Steve McDonald (Redd Kross) and Anna Waronker (That Dog), The Hair… captures the raw spontaneity and chemistry that make Imperial Teen a such unique group of friends and musicians. The members of Imperial Teen have kept themselves busy since last we heard from them, as the title of this album references. But there is no denying that when these four come together, they are more than the sum of their parts. They are a family, and the joy that they share in making music is infectious. So put on your best party shoes and come along for the ride. It’s guaranteed to be fun.”
